Hello! I am Eriko, a lifetime traveler, a mother of two adult sons, and a National Certified Guide Interpreter who has been living in Tokyo for 36 years. One of my childhood dreams was to become an expert who could command the English language like an English interpreter or a flight attendant. Learning about Japanese history was also intriguing in my high school days. I, therefore, majored in Japanese history, minored in English language education, and worked as an English teacher in high school and at a tutoring school. I lived in Hong Kong for six years, enjoying parenting and cultural exchange. These experiences have changed my perspective on Japan, also inspired me to learn more about my country and English. Then, I obtained the national certified license as a guide interpreter. Since 2016, I have provided tours in TOKYO, NIKKO, HAKONE, KYOTO, NARA, HIMEJI, and HIROSHIMA. While touring, my clients always ask me a variety of unexpected questions about Japan. On the other hand, they share interesting information about their countries with me, which has broadened my horizons and trained me to be a better guide. I have been grateful for them and clearly realized that this is my favorite and best job combining my childhood dream, interests, and pleasure. I’m currently into studying world history but there are more things I enjoy, such as traveling, appreciating art and architecture, watching Sumo Tournament, and doing general things. Especially, I love traveling abroad based on my own itineraries. I have traveled to a total of 40 countries so far, but experienced countless troubles and wasted traveling time. Local people always helped me, which is still heartwarming and priceless. However, from my experiences, I'm sure that having a tour guide helps you to efficiently travel around Japan. Also, learning about Japan from the guide would make your trip much more meaningful, colorful and unforgettable. Then I'm here to assist you. I will create a flexible tour tailored to your priorities and share my experiences, comprehensive knowledge, and love of all things Japanese with you. It always makes me happy to see the smiling faces of my clients during tours. I hope to see you in my tours! Thank you for reading;) [Certification] •National Certified Guide Interpreter (Cert. No. EN4801) •Certified Teacher of Japanese History and English •Trained by CEL (Creative English Learning) •Trained by IJCEE (Institute for Japanese Culture Experience and Education) [Notes] National Certified Guide Interpreters are legally prohibited from touring in a rental car arranged by travelers. I will arrange a private car and a professional driver when needed.

Tokyo is an internationalized city and served as the seat of the Military Government from the 17th through the end of the 19th century. Therefore, it has a lot of modern and historical places. To first-time visitors to Japan, I'd like this tour to be an introduction to Tokyo. You visit two significant places: Meiji Shrine and Asakusa. As you enjoy both places, you walk around Omotesando and Takeshita Street as well. With this, you can automatically learn how to navigate Tokyo's train system and get around the city on your own. When you want to visit other places, please let me know. I'm flexible about your itinerary. 1: Meiji Shrine Meiji Shrine is dedicated to the deified spirits of two Japanese heroes; Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken who dramatically modernized Japan after the end of the Samurai period. 2: Asakusa Asakusa is an old town centered around Sensoji Temple with a big red lantern. The Nakamise Shopping Street is a fun place for seeing traditional Japanese things.
You can shift the tour starting time and change the places you want to visit. Please let me know. 9:30 meet you in your hotel lobby -Meiji Shrine -Omotesando or Takeshita Street -Shibuya Crossing -Asakusa Sensoji Temple 13:30 tour end in Asakusa
