Hi! I’m Alina. I have been living in Japan for over 10 years (originally from Romania). My passion for Japanese language and culture brought me here, and since then I’ve lived in both the Kansai and Kanto regions and traveled extensively throughout the country. Note: I’m not a licensed guide, so if you’re looking for an in-depth academic tour focused on history or religion, a certified guide may be more suitable. That said, I provide plenty of historical and cultural context, in a way that’s engaging, easy to understand, and personally meaningful. Please note: guides in Japan cannot drive clients without a special license, but I’m happy to help arrange transportation. Also, I’m vegan, so I cannot guide in fish markets or accompany you to certain restaurants — but I can suggest some good restaurants I know where I can eat as well.

Overview of your Tokyo tour
Whether you just landed in Tokyo, or have a short time and want to explore some highlights of the city, this tour is perfect for you. We will explore together for 4h to gain an overview of the basics, leaving you some space for chilling or exploring on your own. I will show you how to get around major spots and how to use public transportation, how to pay respect to temples and shrines, give tips on other places to visit, and will tell you basic knowledge about Japanese culture that might be useful to you for the rest of your trip. *We can also arrange private transportation by sightseeing taxi for the tour. Let me know if you're interested (recommended for 3-4 people). *I suggest buying a Welcome Suica card (or adding it to your iphone) and exchanging money at the airport to be prepared.

This is a customizable tour where you can pick 3 objectives ( I recommend 2 major tourist spots and one hidden gem/less crowded area), based on your interests! Examples of tours: - Meiji Shrine - Harajuku/Omotesando - Shibuya Or - Zozoji Temple - Ginza - Hamarikyu Gardens Or - Kokyo Gaien (Imperial Palace area - entrance gate and park) and Tokyo Station (old side) - Hie Shrine - Ginza Other highlights: - Akihabara - Daikanyama area - Imperial Palace gardens - Odaiba - Asakusa Please let me know your interests and I can adjust the tour based on them. *Note: The tour will end at the last spot we visit. I will not take you back to the hotel but I can help you find your way.
