We loved our tour with Masaharu! He very nicely worked around the places we had already visited and created a custom itinerary for us. Our favorite stops were the fish market, and a delicious sushi lunch!

Hello, I am Masaharu, the national licensed English speaking tour guide. I was born and brought up in the suburb of Tokyo. After graduating from the university, I worked for a Japanese global logistics company where I had wonderful chances to stay overseas as an expatriate. I have stayed in London three times over fourteen years in total. A long time stay in London enabled me to interact with lots of people from diverse backgrounds and it highly broadened my horizons. Fortunately enough, I have so far visited 38 countries. The invaluable experience helped me deepen my view on a cross cultural comparison between Japan and overseas. Therefore, I am pleased to help you enjoy your stay in Tokyo as my return of the experience I was blessed with. Now, it is my utmost pleasure sharing your precious time with me and satisfying your interest to the best of my ability. How wonderful it is to see you excited! I love playing tennis, piano and travelling around Japan. It is my unforgettable memory that I spent much time waiting in a long queue to get a ticket for Wimbledon tennis tournament games over twenty times during my stay in London. As for travelling, I like visiting historical places and natural hot spring sites where I feel relaxed and also love to taste fabulous local specialty. I have a eighteen year old black & white cat named Jelly who was born and brought up in London. I brought him back to Japan. He took such a long journey with me all the way from London to Japan. He takes great delight in Japanese cuisine such as fresh tuna. Japan is a the pet friendly country. So, you can find plenty of pet cafes in the center of Tokyo like cat cafe, owl cafe, etc. Let's enjoy my tour together, featuring authentic Japanese history, interesting mixture of old and modern culture, natural beauty, unique coexistence of Shinto and Buddhism religion, and seasonal delicacy of Japanese cuisine. I am pleased to customize my tour flexibly according to your interest and request. If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city, I will be delighted to take you to off the beaten track places where you can feel utmost comfortable and relaxed. Should you have any inquiries about my tours, please feel free to ask me. I would love to see you soon! National Licenced Tour Guide-Interpreter (English) : Certificate No. EN00790 Itinerary Administration Manager Certificate I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle. I also can arrange for a separate car and driver.

This tour can satisfy your interest in enjoying diverse features of the dynamic megalopolis. Tokyo offers two different faces including traditional face taking you back to the Edo period and modern face showing stunning architecture-design, manga sub culture and digital amusement technology. You will be attracted by authentic Japanese history, nice collaboration of traditional and modern culture, natural beauty, interesting coexistence of Shinto and Buddhism religion and seasonal delicacy of Japanese cuisine. You may choose a couple of places to visit out of the following recommendable choices in my plan designed for half a day tour.

Masaharu is a great tour guide. He speaks excellent English and knows the topic. My son and I really enjoyed the tour of the Imperial Palace with Masaharu.
We heard about Masaharu from friends who had taken his tour and we agreed with their high praises. Masa’s tour was our first activity in Japan. As novices we needed some practical support in navigating the train and subway systems and we gained confidence. Masa took us to Asakusa where we formed a good understanding of the role of and difference between Shintoism and Buddhism in Japanese culture. We would recommend him enthusiastically for his flexibility in meeting our needs as well as his expertise in Japanese history and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
Masaharu was an exceptional guide and made our time in Tokyo truly unforgettable. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond—not just showing us the city, but teaching my wife and I how to confidently navigate it on our own. Thanks to him, we now understand how to use both the JR and metro lines, and he even helped us purchase and set up our PASMO cards, which made the rest of our trip so much easier. The tour itself was perfectly curated. We explored Asakusa, including Sensō-ji Temple and the surrounding streets, and visited the Imperial Palace area (Edomachi), all while learning meaningful historical and cultural context along the way. One of the highlights was enjoying some of the freshest tuna we’ve ever had at a top-quality sushi restaurant—an experience we would never have found on our own! Masaharu also provided us with a public transportation map and gave us excellent recommendations for the remainder of our stay in Tokyo. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, kind, and thoughtful. If you are visiting Tokyo and want a guide who truly enhances your experience and sets you up for the rest of your trip, I cannot recommend Masaharu highly enough.
Our tour with Masaharu was excellent! He has a deep knowledge of Japanese history which he presents in a lively and clear fashion. He is an interesting and kind person who enjoys talking about any aspect of visiting Japan, which helped us as first time visitors to start understanding the culture. I would certainly recommend his as a guide and ask for him again.
Masaharu is one of the best guides I have had. Masaharu and I discussed what we wanted to see and he was very flexible. Our goal was to see the remaining cherry blossoms and did we! I was very glad to pick him as our guide this day and for the week. We had an outstanding tour with Masaharu

1. We mainly use public transportation such as subways or JR trains. 2. I can also arrange a car-hire service upon your request. (Explanation) Basically, you need to buy the tickets with cash when taking trains. Credit card is not acceptable for short distance transportation in Greater Tokyo, while credit card is acceptable for bullet trains or other long distance super express train tickets. IC transportation card including "SUICA" or "PASMO" is highly recommended to purchase. It is obtainable online. You can also buy SUICA (named "Welcome SUICA") at Haneda and Narita Airport railway stations. The card is convenient to travel around Tokyo as you do not need to buy different tickets each time. If you want me to arrange a car-hire service with driver, please request me as early as possible especially in busy seasons, since many people use the service.
