Hello. Setsuko here. I specialize in tours of Nagano and Tokyo, but I can actually take you anywhere in Japan, like Kyoto, Nikko, or Hakone. I choose these days to live in the country. Why? Because I'm an animal lover - particularly dogs, cats, and horses. Also my home town - Karuizawa - is only an hour from Tokyo by the shinkansen. Karuizawa is a wonderful blend of nature and culture. I can't imagine living anywhere else in Japan now. I do love Tokyo though. I know both places very well. I've lived and traveled in many other countries. In New Zealand and Australia, for example, I worked for twelve years as an interpreter and guide. I often found myself far off the beaten path. Indeed, my most memorable experiences came from what local people showed me there. That's just the sort of experience I'd like to give you. When I returned to Japan I developed a keen interest in its history, its way of life, and its cuisine. I made the decision to get a national guide's qualification. And here I am. I must say, too, how much I enjoy meeting new people. I'd really like to share with you my knowledge of my society's many nooks and crannies. Japan is an intriguing blend of the traditional and the modern and exploring this blend is the very best reason for coming to visit us. I hope to see you soon. I love Tokyo, and I love sharing it with travelers. It has many faces, and so many things to see and do. As a local, I'd be delighted to put together a unique experience for you, depending on what you're looking for and my knowledge of what the city has to offer. One day is not enough to do such a diverse city justice. Two days isn't either, but it's better than one.

Aligned topics perfectly with our interests and capabilities.
Sesko made our group feel like family. She was informative, friendly, caring and just a joy to be with for two days. I would strongly recommend her for anyone wanting a real look at Tokyo and its history and culture. My kids are still talking bout how much they enjoyed our tour with Setsuko.
For example (and it is only an example): First Day 9:30 Meet at your hotel, then take in a couple of the most historical sites, like the Imperial Palace and Meiji Shrine, followed by a delicious local lunch 14:00 Japanese traditional paper making class (washi) and walk around Nihonbashi 16:00 Return to your hotel. Second Day 8:30 Meet at your hotel, then take in a sumo stable to watch a practice session 10:30 Sushi-making class or visit the fish market 12:30 Another delicious local lunch 13:30 Take in one scene of a traditional performance of Kabuki 15:00 Return to your hotel This is just a sample of what's possible. There are museums and art galleries and gardens and specialist shops like ones selling kitchen knives or pottery, and there's also Ginza and Shibuya and Shinjuku and Harajuku. The list goes on.
