Hi! I’m Alina. I have been living in Japan for over 10 years (originally from Romania). My passion for Japanese language and culture brought me here, and since then I’ve lived in both the Kansai and Kanto regions and traveled extensively throughout the country. I speak Japanese fluently. I’m passionate about travel, climate sustainability, photography, and languages. After working for a Japanese company as a business consultant, I decided to become a guide and travel advisor to share my love for Japan with visitors from around the world. Feel free to ask me anything about daily life here as a foreign resident! I offer tours in Tokyo and surrounding areas such as Nikko, Yokohama, Kamakura, and Hakone. Note: I’m not a licensed guide, so if you’re looking for an in-depth academic tour focused on history or religion, a certified guide may be more suitable. That said, I provide plenty of historical and cultural context, in a way that’s engaging, easy to understand, and personally meaningful. Please note: guides in Japan cannot drive clients without a special license, but I’m happy to help arrange transportation. Also, I’m vegan, so I cannot guide in fish markets or accompany you to certain restaurants — but I can suggest some good restaurants I know where I can eat as well.
