The Snæfellsnes peninsula: Iceland in miniature

The peninsula of Snæfellsnes is absolutely amazing. If you only had one day in Iceland, and wanted to see as much as possible, this is definitely the tour that you should do. The peninsula of Snæfellsnes is also named "Iceland in miniature". On this tiny piece of land, stretched westwards from the island, one can find the entire diversity of Icelandic landscapes: Glaciers, volcanoes, lava fields, waterfalls, lakes, and ocean . . . No wonder why some locations of the peninsula were chosen to film some scenes of Game of Thrones. Two things are making this tour stand out compared to other day tours, for me. The first one is that it has a very flexible program. It would take several days to visit all the sites of the peninsula. It means that I can adapt the program to my client, and change it according to your wishes and interests. The second thing is that I believe this is the day tour that offers the most scenic roads, making it a total pleasure to drive.

We will pick you up early in the morning. Our first stop will be in a gas station after approximately 1 hour of driving, for all king of refreshments. Our first visit will be to the mountain of Kirkjufell. Filming location of Game of Thrones, this is the most photographed mountain in Iceland. We will then stop at the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, with rusty remains of shipwrecks scattered all around the beach. Ou next main stop is going to be the village of Arnarstapi, where we will walk along a shoreline that makes it the most beautiful village in Iceland. Those are our 3 main visits. But as the peninsula offers many more wonders of all kinds, I will suggest you some more visits as we progress, in order to fulfill your interests as best as possible.
