My name is Bjorn and I was born and raised in Iceland, and I know my country well by experience. I am a Certified Guide and I have a passion for traveling and I use every chance I get to travel whether it's in Iceland or abroad. I'm a friendly and outgoing person and I love meeting and talking to people. I live in Reykjavik with my family and I've lived in the Reykjavik area my whole life, which I love but I take every chance I get to travel to the countryside and enjoy the nature with my camera in hand. I am an amateur photographer and I don't think I could be luckier with a country to live in since everywhere you look is a photo waiting to be taking. It's a photographer's paradise. Experiencing Iceland with a local guide truly is a great way to get the most out of your adventure. I drive an Audi Q7 e-tron which offers great comfort for up to 4 passengers or a Toyota Proace Verso that suits up to 7 passengers. Going with a professional driver who knows his country and conditions well is a good way to travel since weather conditions in Iceland in the winter time can be harsh and unpredictable. Iceland truly is an amazing and fascinating country with breathtaking scenery and untouched nature and I want you to enjoy it to the fullest and have a save and the most authentic experience as possible. During my university studies I did an exchange year in Vienna, Austria and there I made a lot of friends from all over the world. I've been lucky enough to have some of them visit me here in Iceland and it was then when I discovered my passion for introducing Iceland to visitors. It is a privilege for me to be an Iceland guide and it is very important to me to make your Iceland trip unique and unforgettable. I am flexible and I listen to your wishes and if you have any special interests or hobbies I will do anything I can to accommodate it and incorporate it to your tour. I look forward to welcoming and showing you Iceland! - Certified Guide. - Licensed Professional driver. - First aid course. - Fully licensed vehicle by the Icelandic Transport Authority. - Owner of Cool Travel Iceland, a Fully licensed DMC/Travel Agency by the Icelandic Tourist Board. - BSc Degree in Business from Bifrost University.

Overview of your Reykjavik tour

Come with me on a private tour and experience some of Iceland's most popular nature sights in this amazing area that has so much to offer. I am particularly fond of the area since my family has a country house there and I spend a lot of time there with them. I have been doing this tour now for a few years and I never get tired of experiencing it with my guests. The Golden Circle is the most visited area in Iceland and there is a good reason for it. In one day you get to see Waterfalls, Geyser's and a National Park where you walk between two continents and more. You will witness the iconic waterfall Gullfoss, Geysir the famous hot spring that spouts water 100 ft up in the air every few minutes and the national park of Thingvellir where the first parliament in the world was founded and the tectonic plates meet and divide the continents of Europe and America. This tour is truly a must when visiting Iceland.

This was our second tour with Bjorn during our stay in Reykjavik. This was an exceptional tour, covering so much over the course of one day. We were able to visit multiple amazing and diverse destinations including the Gullfoss waterfall, Fridheimar Tomato Farm, Geysir, Thinvellir National Park and several other memorable sites. An unexpected aside, we learned about golf in Iceland as a major sporting interest and were able to see a few of the many local golf courses. Bjorn is organized and efficient in conducting his tours. He is attentive to the interests and physical capabilities of his guests; and flexible with how time is spent on the tour. The vehicle we toured in, a late model Audi SUV was extremely comfortable and roomy. What made the tour most memorable was Bjorn, and how he manages the relationship with his guests. He works very hard to provide education and memorable experiences. He accompanies guests while walking through the tour sites, answering questions and providing information, which some guides do not do. We can not believe we saw so much over the course of one day. We would highly recommend this tour and guide during a visit to Iceland.

We had a great time see! Bjorn was an amazing tour guide and gave us lots of interesting information about all the sites. Our favorites were Gullfoss and Geysir. Our kids ages 11 and 14 enjoyed everything as well!

We had a fantastic four person Golden Circle Tour with Bjorn on June 6, 2026. He had planned the day so our first stop was the tour buses' last stop, essentially going opposite the tour flow to avoid the crowds. This combined with his knowledge and good humor made for a very memorable trip. We quickly felt we were on an outing with a friend. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Bjorn was a brilliant guide both for this Golden Circle Tour and for a tour of the Reykavik: Knowledgeable, Insightful, Flexible, Engaging. We saw all the required sights Geysers, amazing Waterfalls, Glaciers, Icelandic Horses, Greenhouses, and Thingvellier, where the Icelandic Parliaments were held for centuries. We also took a side stop to see a couple carbon capture and geothermal projects. Bjorn's knowledge of Icelandic history was remarkable. His cultural insights were super helpful. He brought the stories of each place to life in a terrific fashion. He understood what we were interested in from the law to energy to food and faith and adapted to each with depth and clarity in lively conversations across 8 hours. We would strongly recommend Bjorn for any of your visits to Iceland.

Great tour! Bjorn is a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable and entertaining. As a native of Iceland (with roots back to the founding family), Bjorn brings personal knowledge and historical perspective to the sites along the Golden Circle. Highly recommend!

We flew into Iceland for a two day tour. Bjorn met us at the airport and whisked us away. He was on time and he assisted with our bags. He showed us around the airport area then he took us to the Blue Lagoon where we just relaxed and decompressed. We stayed a bit then he picked us up. We spent a full day of touring, we learned so much about the history and culture of Iceland as well as the volcanic activty and structures. Oh and Bjorn has taken us to a great resturant that had great value and food. At the end of the day he dropped us off at our hotel and we discussed our plan of action for the following day.

Your Reykjavik tour itinerary

Highlights: - Gullfoss Waterfall. We will get out of the car and after only a few steps you can witness the power of the waterfall and take in its beauty. - Icelandic horse at a close range. We park close to the horses and you can have a chance to meet them at a close range and even feed them some treats if you feel like it. - Geysir hot spring area. We will park the car and walk around the geothermal area. The highlight for most is when Strokkur, Geysirs small brother sprouts boiling hot water up in the air. - Þingvellir National Park. This is the tour's longest stop and where the most walking takes place. In the summertime and when accessible in winter we will take a short hike up to Oxararfoss waterfall. We will then continue on and see the world's first parliament. From there you will continue walking between the two continents up to a viewing platform and a parking lot where we will finish the tour and head back to Reykjavik. The tours can be adjusted and customisable to your needs and wishes.
