Overview of your Reykjavik tour
Join me for a tour around the Golden Circle, this adventure promises to be comfortable, intimate & inspiring! We depart Reykjavík at 9 am & head straight to our first stop, Þingvellir. This is one of Iceland's three national parks and our only UNESCO world heritage site. The area is steeped in history it is where our parliament was established, where we got our independence from Denmark in 1944, and where the nation converted to Christianity overnight in the year 1000. Our next stop is the Geysir geothermal area. This is a beautiful place with many hot springs and two erupting geysers. The one named Geysir itself is sporadic and unreliable, but the other, Strokkur, erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, blasting a column of water up to 30 m high. Gullfoss is just a few kilometers down the road and is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is incredibly powerful, and an impressive 32 m high, over two dramatic drops. You will not be able to stop marveling over these breathtaking forces of nature!

This was a great tour of the key features of the Golden Circle. In addition, we were able to customize to add two additional stops: Secret Lagoon and Kerid Crater. Valthor was accommodating, knowledgeable, and very pleasant during our tour. He had the perfect calm personality to manage our group of 8 lively adult family members. He always detailed what was involved in each stop, explained the physicalitites required, and kept us running smoothly on time. In addition, Valthor was great at communicating with us before the tour to iron out details and answer our questions.

Iceland is beautiful! Valthor took us to all the places on the tour and he was very accommodating to make a couple changes. The one thing that the 6 of us in the tour agreed was that it would have been nice if Valthor would have given us more history and details along the way. We felt like we had to ask him questions vs him just guiding us as we went.

Our group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our Golden Circle tour with Valthor. He’s an excellent guide. He made sure that we went in the opposite direction of the other tours that were on big buses. This really gave us the opportunity to view the sights without the crowds. Which you will appreciate. He even took us by a working dairy that makes ice cream on site. Which was a wonderful treat.
