Get the best experience of Iceland! As your local guide, tracing my bloodline to the Vikings of Iceland I will help you make great memories. I'm a certified guide born in Reykjavik, Iceland. I have a love for the Icelandic nature and it's constantly changing geology. Throughout the years I've travelled quite a lot in Iceland and I feel that Iceland has a lot to offer. I would be delighted to show you and share it with you. Having a second home on the north part of Snæfellsnes peninsula on the West coast of Iceland has given me a special passion for that area, but Snæfellsnes have been called "Little Iceland" because of the variety of the landscape as it zooms up all the aspects of Icelandic geology and nature. As well as being a certified guide, I have a degree in business management and I am also a Graphic Designer, running my own studio for over 20 years so I have a good eye for good spots to take pictures. Icelandic history and geology has always been a part of my hobbies so there is a lot of things to share. I have a passion for sharing the specialities of Icelandic nature and culture. Icelandic history dating back from the time period of the settlement keep many of the keys to understand the way we life and our culture. After having travelled in Iceland for decades, my ambition is to give you information and facts about Iceland, the people of Iceland, the nature and just being your best travel companion. Sharing the history of Iceland and facts about the volcanoes and glaciers and the constant changing nature is a pleasure. Visiting local Icelandic people is also a key to get to know the life of the average Icelander and how we live, our interests and opinions on this small island in the north. That is why I like taking my customers for a chat and coffee with homemade Icelandic pastries with the locals at their ordinary Icelandic home. Flexibility is my middle name, so any preferences or requests are always welcome. My philosophy regarding tourism in Iceland is that I like to give my customers the same treatment and experience as I would like to have if I was a tourist in their country. So drop me a line, and let's see how we can make the most of your Icelandic visit and how you can make precious memories. - Certified guide from MK in Reykjavik - - Authorised daytour provider from Iceland tourist board Nr 2023-067. - Passenger transport permit from the Icelandic Transport Authority Nr.2495 - Commercial driving licence, Category D - Member of the Iceland Tourist Guide Association. Come with me on The Golden Circle tour which includes some of the most popular attractions in Iceland. The picturesque volcanic crater Kerid, the powerful and popular Gullfoss waterfall, the astonishing geothermal area of Geysir. Thingvellir, the historic National Park which sits between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates and then head back to Reykjavik. This tour gives you a little bit of everything Iceland has to offer, craters, lava, waterfalls and geothermal sites along with historic places as well. Starting with the crater Kerdid, then heading to Geysir the geothermal area and then to the magnificent waterfall of Gullfoss. If you like ice cream we will stop by family run farm Efstidalur ll for a taste of their home made ice cream. Thingvellir would be our last stop in the tour which is a National park and where the oldest parliament in the world was established before heading back to Reykjavik. This tour varies from 7-8 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Halldor was hands down one of the best guides we have ever had. He is so easy and fun to be with. His knowledge of all things Iceland is deeper than the continental rift. From geology, flora, fauna, food, history, culture, you name it, he knew it. The Golden Circle can be crowded. Halldor knew all the tricks to slip us in and out along with timing. AND, we hit so many hidden spots with almost no other people around. Can't wait to go back and spend time with him. We have adopted him into our family. Thanks Halldor!!!
We did the Golden Circle Tour with Halldor. I can't say enough wonderful things about Halldor and the places he showed us. We did the usual amazing sights on the Golden Circle, such as the Kerid Crater, waterfalls, etc. but Halldor added so much more. He took us to a small farm that sold homemade ice cream. He took us to his favorite little lunch place, where we had traditional lamb soup. He took us to a small church where they were doing archaeological excavations on the grounds. He was so interesting and personable. At the end of the day, he took me to an Urgent Care because I had been coughing and complaining all day. He came inside with me and got me registered. That is way beyond his "duties" as a guide. We would highly recommend both Haldor and this tour for anyone who wants an unforgettable experience seeing the Golden Circle.
On July 30 and 31 we took private tours with Halldor; this one and Reykjanes Peninsula. The whole experience was great. Before our arrival he communicated timely and very clear so there were no issues as to schedule, timing or meeting places. During our trip my wife was hurt prior to to Halldor picking us up. He adjusted our tour to accommodate this situation. He took us to amazing and unique places such as a town where we were able to see where the lave flow had stopped during a volcano eruption a few years ago. He also brought us some typical Icelandic food that you do not find in restaurants so we could taste unique Icelandic food. All in all a memorable experience and all thanks to Halldor. If you are thinking of going to Iceland and hiring a private guide the person is Halldor. Halldor - thank you again for a memorable experience.
Great tour!!! Great guide!!!! Halldor is very knowledgeable and professional. He is also very nice! We had lots of fun!
Halldor provided a once in a lifetime experience in Iceland, taking us around the southwestern corner of Iceland. We looked at several of the geological features, and because my interest was in birds, held or made many sidetracked trips to see what we could see. He made every effort to provide a personal and exciting experience! His personality is so positive and pleasant, and his effort was top level.
