My name is Sóla. I am born here in Iceland. I love to hike up in the mountains, watch the birds in the summer time and swim in our geothermal swimming pools the whole year around. I studied photography in the States many years ago, worked in Germany and studied French in France. As a child my family spent one year in Denmark. I started tour guiding at 22 when I came home from France because of my knowlege of French. Back then all the roads were dirt roads, there were no telephones and we slept in tents and I still enjoy camping out and hiking out in the nature! I would love to share with you my love for my country and share with you some of it's most beautiful places. Be it the most popular turist spots or the remote and untouched wildernes areas, qaint little villages or cafés. I try my very best to show you the places that would appeal to you. I have a great knowledge of my country and have been working as a tour guide and a driver guide for many many years. I have a fully licensed and a very comfortable and spacious 4x4 Ford Excursion that can take you amost everywhere. Hope to hear from you soon. Greetings from Iceland. Fully licensed Day Tour Operator from the Icelandic Tourist Board. A valid passenger transportation licence from the Icelandic Transport Authority. A fully insured vehicle and guide for passenger transportation. Up to date first aid courses from the Icelandic Red Cross. None

On this tour we head out of Reykjavik and drive up to the mountains. The National Park of Thingvellir is just an hours drive from Reykjavik. It is among few places in the world where you can see the separation of the North American and the Eurasian plate. An easy walk down the Almannagjá Gorge will take you to the oldest democratic Parliament in the world founded in 930 AD. As we drive further east we start driving through farmland and might spot some Icelandic horses on our way. We stop in Geysir hot spring area. There you can see Strokkur hot spring as it spouts up to 100 feet in the air. Only ten minutes away are Gullfoss waterfalls one of the most spectacular of all waterfalls in Iceland. After visiting the falls we head back to Reykjavik.
08:30. Departure from hotel in Reykjavik. 09:30. Arrive at the National Park Thingvellir. An optional hike down the gorge Almannagja or go to the viewpoint. 11:00. Arrive at Geysir hot springs and Stokkur hotspring. 12:30. Arrive at Gullfoss waterfall 15:00. Back in Reykjavík. Optional: Lunch stop at Fridheimar or a termal barh at Fontana or The Secret Lagoon.
