Iceland's Golden Circle Essentials - Half Day Private Tour

The Golden Circle is the best introduction to Iceland. It is the most famous touristic route in Iceland for a very good reason, and it is one of my favorite tours to offer regardless of knowing that many other guides do not like guiding it. Personally, I actually appreciate it so much that I quite often come here with my family on my days off! I enjoy it a lot because of how much can be told about Iceland during this tour: Geothermia, history, legends, geology, energy, and gastronomy are some of the many topics that I will be delighted to tell you about. During this tour, you will see the edge of tectonic plates and travel from one continent to another, an active geyser, and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland: Gullfoss. This is a tour that would take approximately 6 hours, which is ideal if you have limited time. The itinerary can easily be customized, for example by adding some geothermal baths or some farm visits (which I highly recommend!)

·The tour will start with a pick-up from your lodging. ·Our first stop will be the National Park of Thingvellir (Þingvellir). Þingvellir means "The assembly fields", this is where was founded by the Vikings the very first parliament of Europe in 930. An important part of Icelandic history took place in this area. But the Park is not only of interest for its history. . . ·Being in the park, you'll also get the chance to walk across the place where 2 tectonic plates (The North American Plate and the Eurasian Plate) are drifting apart. It is a short, yet spectacular walk. ·After a short drive, we'll arrive at Geysir, where you'll see several geysers. Most of them are now dormant, including the main eponymous one. But its little brother, called Strokkur, is bursting every 5 to 10 minutes, so you'll get to see it a couple of times. ·Our next and last stop will be the waterfall of Gullfoss. "Gullfoss" means "The golden waterfall" and this is why this route is the "Golden Circle". ·We'll then drive back.
