If you're in Iceland you need to make this trip! This has been one of my favorite routes since 1988 and I'm confident that you'll love it too once you've seen the amazing sights it offers and learnt some of its secrets from me. Walk on the black volcanic sand and pebble beach used as a film set in the 2014 movie Noah starring Russel Crowe, Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins. This beach was also used as film set in season 7, 2017 Game of Thrones. This beach is adorned by columnar basalt to the east, headland with an arch to the west and the infamous Eyjafjallajokull volcano and glacier to the north. Visit two of the most iconic waterfalls in Iceland, i. e Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. In summer it is possible to hike behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Visit the picturesque village Vik (means bay) which is the only village in Iceland that stands by the sea which does not have a harbor of some sort.

Stefan did an amazing job wit our personalized tour. He took care of arranging horseback riding, organized a route that let us see everything on our itinerary, and provided wonderful commentary throughout our day. His vehicle was very comfortable and we loved the sound system in his car that allowed those of us in the back to hear. He was super kind and patient, never pushing us to move faster. He did a great job of communicating with me beforehand and kept in contact with me the morning of our tour so he was very easy to meet up with. His knowledge of the island was much appreciated and he capped off a dream vacation for my daughter's graduation. We HIGHLY recommend booking with Stefan!! ~Brian, Danielle, and Kate
Amazing tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide! Comfortable vehicle, history and culture as well as some Icelandic saga stories, from a native who has been in the business for decades, all at our own pace. Highly recommend!
We knew Iceland was beautiful, but seeing it all in person completely blew us away. We visited Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. We saw rainbows galore and we were in awe with each one. We also visited Reynisfjara Beach, with its black sand and crazy rock formations. We kept a safe distance but couldn’t stop staring at how wild and powerful the ocean looked. The whole place feels straight out of a fantasy movie. We made a also stopped in Vík where we took beautiful photos from the top of the hill. Stefan was fantastic, super friendly, funny, and full of great stories. The drive between stops was just as beautiful as the sights themselves with endless green fields, misty mountains, and Icelandic horses and sheep everywhere. Dress in layers and bring waterproof clothing and a waterproof case for your phone. I would highly recommend this tour!!
We loved our full day tour. Our goal was to learn about the culture as well as see iconic sites, and both were five star. He provided a lot of info, had a great sense of humor and just made it all an unforgettable day. Walking to the edge of a major glacier and getting soaked walking behind a waterfall were highlights, yet so were his vast knowledge of the history behind the formation of some of the sites over millions of years. If he is available do not hesitate to book him.
My clients were very pleased to have Stefan as their guide for this tour. The enjoyed their time with him and told me that they would highly recommend him for anyone traveling to Iceland.
I will pick you up anywhere in the Greater Reykjavik area in a registered, insured, and licensed vehicle with a speaker system. I've been preparing for your tour since 1988 and love to share my knowledge with you! Depart from your hotel in Reykjavik for the south coast of Iceland. We travel across Hellisheidi mountain pass past the latest geothermal power station in the country. Then we drop to the south coast lowland and travel through some fertile farmland along some ancient sea cliffs. • See Vestmannaeyjar islands in the distance (erupted in 1973). • See volcano Eyjafjallajokull glacier which erupted so memorably in 2010. • Hike behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall 180 ft waterfall (closed in winter due to ice) • Photograph Skogafoss waterfall and rainbow when the sun shines. • See Vik church and Vik sea stacks. • Visit Reynisfjara black sandy beach • See the Icelandic horse (we'll stop if you like), other farm animals, and grain fields. • See authentic Icelandic farms and learn about the way of life.
