South Coast of Iceland to Village Vik day trip - Volcanoes, Waterfalls, Glaciers and Black Beaches

Our third full-day tour with Stefán was again amazing, driving through incredible landscapes, with geothermal features just about everywhere you look. A beautiful glacier with a lagoon full of black and white icebergs, plus two waterfall areas whose beauty was beyond imagination. We visited the city of Vik and its nearby world-famous beach — Reynisfjara, commonly known as the Black Beach, with fine dark volcanic sand made from cooled lava. Massive geometric basalt columns rise from the waves, as well as dramatic Reynisdrangar sea stacks, with huge arches, rising out of the ocean. Best guide in the land - and of course beautiful sites. We did total of two tours, this and the Golden Circle. Both are a must. Stefan is personable, great expert in his craft, great communicator, prompt, and a wonderful human being.

Stefan did an amazing job wit our personalized tour. He took care of arranging horseback riding, organized a route that let us see everything on our itinerary, and provided wonderful commentary throughout our day. His vehicle was very comfortable and we loved the sound system in his car that allowed those of us in the back to hear. He was super kind and patient, never pushing us to move faster. He did a great job of communicating with me beforehand and kept in contact with me the morning of our tour so he was very easy to meet up with. Amazing tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide! Comfortable vehicle, history and culture as well as some Icelandic saga stories, from a native who has been in the business for decades, all at our own pace. Highly recommend!

We knew Iceland was beautiful, but seeing it all in person completely blew us away. We visited Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. We saw rainbows galore and we were in awe with each one. We also visited Reynisfjara Beach, with its black sand and crazy rock formations. We kept a safe distance but couldn’t stop staring at how wild and powerful the ocean looked. The whole place feels straight out of a fantasy movie. We made a also stopped in Vík where we took beautiful photos from the top of the hill. Stefan was fantastic, super friendly, funny, and full of great stories. The drive between stops was just as beautiful as the sights themselves with endless green fields, misty mountains, and Icelandic horses and sheep everywhere. Dress in layers and bring waterproof clothing and a waterproof case for your phone. I would highly recommend this tour!!

We loved our full day tour. Our goal was to learn about the culture as well as see iconic sites, and both were five star. He provided a lot of info, had a great sense of humor and just made it all an unforgettable day. Walking to the edge of a major glacier and getting soaked walking behind a waterfall were highlights, yet so were his vast knowledge of the history behind the formation of some of the sites over millions of years. If he is available do not hesitate to book him.
