We are weeks late in submitting this review because of some unforeseen issues. Sorry, Bjorn! Iceland was on top of our bucket list and this fantastic country turned out to be everything we had hoped for and more. Bjorn was the perfect guide who gave our family of five a most memorable two-day tour of the Golden Circle and South Shore to Vik in a very comfortable SUV. He was professional, knowledgeable, conscientious, flexible and quintessentially Icelandic charming! Also, a very safe driver. He was equally as helpful and attentive with a 90-year-old man as he was with a seven-year-old girl — going out of his way to take us to a secret hideout of puffins and watch one doing his business made the trip for her! Our land tour was followed by a circumnavigating cruise with Regent Seven Seas; the ship-provided excursions were quite decent, but none compared with Bjorn’s! See you next time!

During my university studies I did an exchange year in Vienna, Austria and there I made a lot of friends from all over the world. I've been lucky enough to have some of them visit me here in Iceland and it was then when I discovered my passion for introducing Iceland to visitors. Overview of your Reykjavik tour
The drive along the south coast of Iceland is one of the most scenic one in the country, and in this tour we will drive as far as the charming village of Vík. For me just driving the South Shore is an experience in its-self. I have been doing this tour for several years now and I don't know how many times I have driven it in total but it never ceases to amaze me. There is something about the majestic mountains that lie along the coast and not to mention all the natural landmarks and wonders! Come with me and immerse yourself in the beautiful South Shore with its powerful and breathtaking waterfalls and glaciers, black beaches, dramatic mountains and incredible rugged and untouched nature.

Our guide, Bjorn, was outstanding. Welcomed us, informed us and gave a great tour. All our stops were well timed. He arranged our day to avoid large crowds, and made us feel like we enjoyed our own private Iceland. His knowledge of history, geography and sites was deep and greatly informative. He wove history with local lore to make our time with him quite fun and sorry that it ended at the end of the day. Also made great restaurant recommendations for all our meals, both lunch and dinner.
Your Reykjavik tour itinerary
Along the way we stop at the gorgeous 60m (196 ft. ) high Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is unique since you can walk behind it and through to the other side (NOTE that during Winter sometimes it is not possible to walk behind the waterfall due to Ice and security reasons). Our next stop is at the majestic and much-photographed Skógafoss waterfall, with its 60 m (196 ft. ) drop. Other highlights include the black sand beach and impressive Reynisdrangar rock formations, near Vík. Since this is a private tour we can customize the tour to your needs and wishes as long as it is on our way and fits our timeframe. For example a stop at the Lava Center museum where you can examine the various volcanic eruptions and lava flows, volcanic and rift systems, faults, and glacial floods that make Iceland a showcase of volcanism, which is a great way to start or end the day since we will be driving at much of the area that is explored at the Lava Center
