I'm a local, born and raised in Iceland. I've spent most of my life in the Reykjavík area, with 10 years in Akureyri, North Iceland. I've also lived abroad in Norway, the United States, and Brussels, Belgium, where my two daughters were born. These experiences have shaped how I see my country and how I enjoy sharing it with others. When I'm not guiding, I'm a proud dad of two football-loving (soccer-loving for my U.S. clients) daughters (ages 12 and 15), which makes me a dedicated soccer dad in my free time. I love hiking and have explored all of Iceland's most popular routes, giving me a deep, practical knowledge of the country's landscapes and hidden corners. By background, I'm a political scientist and have spent most of my career working in government. Four years ago, I decided to turn a long-held dream into reality and trained as a licensed guide while still working full-time. I also earned a commercial driving license, allowing me to offer seamless driver-guide services. Since making the switch, I've never looked back. I genuinely enjoy introducing guests to Iceland's nature, history, and culture in a relaxed, fun, and engaging way. My tours are fully customizable and centred on excellent service. My goal is for guests to feel safe, well cared for, and to leave with both knowledge and great memories. I guide in a Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, a comfortable mid-sized van with room for luggage. It accommodates up to seven passengers, though five is ideal for maximum comfort. Airport and cruise terminal transfers are available, and larger vehicles can be arranged if needed. When you book with me, the day is yours. Some guests prefer the shortest return to Reykjavík, while others enjoy adding extra stops along the way. I'm flexible and happy to adjust as we go. If you have ideas or special interests, feel free to get in touch. I'm always happy to help design a tour that fits you perfectly.

The Snaefellsnes peninsula is known for its raw nature, from its coastline to its lava fields, its mountains, the birdlife and, of course, the famous Snaefellsjökull glacier and volcano, which was the gateway that inspired Jules Verne's iconic novel, 'A Journey to the Centre of the Earth.' On this tour I'll take you to, amongst other spots, the breathtaking viewpoint of Kirkjufell, the most iconic mountain on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and a beloved spot for photographers. Kirkjufell gained fame as Arrowhead Mountain in the hit series 'Game of Thrones' (seasons 6-7). As an avid hiker myself, I have been inspired to carry out many tours on this peninsula, and my guests always appreciate how raw the nature is here, and how non touristy this area is compared to other locations close to Reykjavik. Since this is a private and customizable experience, rest assured, some hiking stops could be skipped if you prefer a lighter itinerary!
-After picking you up from an agreed location, we'll depart to Ytri Tunga Beach, where we could be for up to an hour watching seals! -Next, we'd visit Arnarstapi village, where we'll hike along the very scenic coastline. -After the hike, we'll make a stop for lunch at a local restaurant here. -Later, we'll drive to the Londrangar Basalt Cliffs, where we'll trek to a panoramic viewpoint. -Around half an hour later, we'd visit the beautiful Djupalonssandur Beach. To get to it, we'll hike between cliffs towards the ocean. -We'll then head to Kirkjufell Mountain where we'll do a short trek to its main viewpoint contemplating its waterfall. -At last, we'll explore the Berserkjahraun lava field for around half an hour before driving back to drop you off.

Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer model 2022, yet the the more extended version of the model, so there's enough space for luggage if needed. The van is 4WD, which is often good to have in the wintertime here in Iceland. If you needed a bigger car/bus, I could deliver the tour on a Mercedes Sprinter for an additional cost so please contact me before booking if you'd like to request it.
