Since I was a teenager I have been travelling around Iceland in my free time - and even today that is what I do when I'm on holiday. Iceland is a endless treasure chest - filled with nature, history and geology, plus of course, stories of people, elves and other Icelander's, and there's always something new to see. I love showing people my beautiful country, so working as a tour guide is my dream job. I started working as a tour guide many years ago, around 1990, but just as a side job. However, from the beginning of 2022, I have been doing it full time. I've been working in tourism for many years, teaching in the icelandic guiding schools, working in safety in tourism and in search and rescue. I'm also a bestseller author of books about Iceland, so travelling and tourism have been my life. My favorite thing is to guide people who are interested in our nature, history and geology, and I love to tell people about those things, but also about things that make us Icelanders unique. For example, how is it to live in a country with so many eruptions and earthquakes. How can we live here in winter when we only have a few hours of daylight? Do we really have daylight 24 hours a day in summer? And lets not forget about the elves - do Icelanders believe in elves? I look forward to take you on one of my tours and tell you about what makes Iceland like no other country in the world, and of course, tell you some stories along the way. Who knows - maybe we will add an extra unexpected stop! I am a Licenced Tour Guide in Iceland, and possess a Hiking Guide License too. I also have a Day Tours permit, as well as permit to transport tourists in my own vehicle - LandRover Defender (4 pax) but I also have access to other vehicles for more passengers if needed. Love to make customize tours so don't hesitate to contact me. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Rural Tourism, which further helps me to create good experience for my guests. I have been an active member of Search & Rescue for 35 years, as well as working in search and rescue too, by teaching about safety in Tourism, outdoors, first aid, orienteering and more for many, many years. On this Silver Circle of West Iceland we will visit the most famous attractions in the area so if you are into beatiful nature with a dash of viking stories and history this is your tour. If we add to the recipe that attractions here are usually less crowded this is a perfect tour for everyone who visit Iceland. Everything from geology when visiting Grábrók volcanic crater and the Lava waterfalls to the historic place of Reykholt where Snorri, historian, writer and a viking chieftain ruled. Even though Snorri was powerful in a gentle way we can not say that about Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe. Raw power with loud hissing noice. Lets not forget two other stops, Glanni which means recless and Barnafossar, childrens waterfalls but the name comes from a rather sad story that I will tell you before visiting.
I will pick you up at your accommodation in the Reykjavik capital area and we will straight away head towards West Iceland - area full of history and stories from vikings. First stop, after close to two hours is Grábrók volcanic crater. Few minutes hike up to the crater and the path leads us around the crater with stunning view over the area as well as this red, beatiful volcanic crater. Next stop, few minutes away is Glanni waterfall, a cute waterfall in one of many good salmon rivers in Iceland. Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe is our next stop - around half an hour away and from there few minutes drive to Reykholt, one of the most historic sites in the area where viking chieftain Snorri Sturluson was killed. The lava waterfalls are to say the least breathtaking sight for all that visit and geology behind it very interesting. Few steps away the Barnafossar waterfall, our last stop before heading back to Reykjavik.

In my own LandRover Defender from the year 2022. Very comfortable for 3 passengers and even nice for one more.
