My name is Sóla. I am born here in Iceland. I love to hike up in the mountains, watch the birds in the summer time and swim in our geothermal swimming pools the whole year around. I studied photography in the States many years ago, worked in Germany and studied French in France. As a child my family spent one year in Denmark. I started tour guiding at 22 when I came home from France because of my knowlege of French. Back then all the roads were dirt roads, there were no telephones and we slept in tents and I still enjoy camping out and hiking out in the nature! I would love to share with you my love for my country and share with you some of it's most beautiful places. Be it the most popular turist spots or the remote and untouched wildernes areas, qaint little villages or cafés. I try my very best to show you the places that would appeal to you. I have a great knowledge of my country and have been working as a tour guide and a driver guide for many many years. I have a fully licensed and a very comfortable and spacious 4x4 Ford Excursion that can take you amost everywhere. Hope to hear from you soon. Greetings from Iceland. Fully licensed Day Tour Operator from the Icelandic Tourist Board. A valid passenger transportation licence from the Icelandic Transport Authority. A fully insured vehicle and guide for passenger transportation. Up to date first aid courses from the Icelandic Red Cross. None

Thórsmörk, "The Valley of Thor" is an incredibly beautiful place and one of the few places in Iceland where there are still no big crowds and to get there we will drive a dirt road accessible only by 4x4 vehicles, where we will cross several river crossings that become larger as the road progresses. We go to Basar area where you have an option for a hike. The drive will take you through an amazing and surreal landscape and you will enjoy watching and walking, and if you enjoy photography, this is where you want to go. We'll drive down the south coast to the Gigjokull Glacier to explore the area where massive amounts of meltwater rushed down the glacier during the 2010 volcanic eruption and a small climb brings us closer to the glacier before we continue driving into a valley that gets narrower and narrower. We return from this area but make a short stop by the Seljalandsfoss waterfall before returning to Reykjavik. Optional hiking in the Steinholtsgja gorges or in Basar.
