Reykjanes Peninsula Day Tour from Reykjavik or KEF Airport in a Private SUV

This was an exceptional tour in all regards. Arriving in Iceland at 6:00 a.m. after a seven and one half hour flight we wanted something to do before our early afternoon check in at our hotel. The beauty and unique landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula erased our travel fatigue. The geological history of this area is fascinating. We were able to visit multiple sites including the bridge between the continental plates; Grindavik, a community on the coast that was damaged and evacuated by volcanic activity in 2023 and 2024; the Blue Lagoon; and the sea cliffs at Valahnukamol. Bjorn is a fabulous guide. He is interesting , personable and extremely knowledgable on all things Iceland. He is enthusiastic and thorough in his presentation. Perhaps best of all, he presents as interested in his clients and their enjoyment of the experience. We felt that we received a wonderful orientation to Iceland during our first hours in the country. It was a great way to use the time we had before checking into our hotel.

Bjorn was a great tour guid. He was waiting for us right when we came out of the airport, carried one of our bags and had a big, comfortable car for our tour of Reykjavik and the surrounding area. He was born and raised there so was well versed in the history, and everything we would want to know. We were with him for 4 hours and really enjoyed the time we spent with him. He was really easy to talk to and we highly recommend him as a tour guide. Tours Br Locals is always a great way to get the most out of your travels.

My wife and I booked two tours with Bjorn. The first was waterfalls only. The second was to Reykholt and Borgarnes with an emphasis on Icelandic sagas, the early settlement of Iceland, and Snorri Sturluson. Bjorn is not only very knowledgeable, but he is very open to all types of questions, tying the early days of the settlement of Iceland with the present day. His car is a very comfortable and luxurious Audi Q7. The waterfall tour was 11 hours, and the Reykholt and Borgarnes area tour was 6 hours. Both were very comfortable, but the waterfall tour required some very doable hiking. Every waterfall Bjorn took us to was different and amazing in its own way. The entire day went by quickly and was absolutely amazing! We have booked many guides through Tours By Locals. Bjorn's was one of the best.

We really enjoyed our Tour with Bjorn. He took us to the best locations to see all the places we wanted to see. In addition he modified our tour as we went along . He picked up very quickly what our interests were ( i.e he was attentive as our conversations with him occurred ). Couldn’t have asked for better Guide and tour.
