Lava fields, hot springs and costal views.

I find a visit to the Reykjanes Peninsula, the youngest part of the country, always interesting may it rain or shine. The endless lava black fields sometimes covered in green moss make up a very unique and mystical landscape. The scenery around Kleifarvatn area with it's dark brown tuff rocks and the sizzling hot springs by Seltun add to the variety of this place . Along the shore are small fishing communities where Icelanders have lived throughout the centuries and survived on fishing. In early summer I recommend a detour to Krisuvikurberg sea cliffs if you are interested in ocean birds. *** A stop at the Blue Lagoon or the Sky Lagoon is an extra option
