Since I was a teenager I have been travelling around Iceland in my free time - and even today that is what I do when I'm on holiday. Iceland is a endless treasure chest - filled with nature, history and geology, plus of course, stories of people, elves and other Icelander's, and there's always something new to see. I love showing people my beautiful country, so working as a tour guide is my dream job. I started working as a tour guide many years ago, around 1990, but just as a side job. However, from the beginning of 2022, I have been doing it full time. I've been working in tourism for many years, teaching in the icelandic guiding schools, working in safety in tourism and in search and rescue. I'm also a bestseller author of books about Iceland, so travelling and tourism have been my life. My favorite thing is to guide people who are interested in our nature, history and geology, and I love to tell people about those things, but also about things that make us Icelanders unique. For example, how is it to live in a country with so many eruptions and earthquakes. How can we live here in winter when we only have a few hours of daylight? Do we really have daylight 24 hours a day in summer? And lets not forget about the elves - do Icelanders believe in elves? I look forward to take you on one of my tours and tell you about what makes Iceland like no other country in the world, and of course, tell you some stories along the way. Who knows - maybe we will add an extra unexpected stop! I am a Licenced Tour Guide in Iceland, and possess a Hiking Guide License too. I also have a Day Tours permit, as well as permit to transport tourists in my own vehicle - LandRover Defender (4 pax) but I also have access to other vehicles for more passengers if needed. I have been an active member of Search & Rescue for 35 years, as well as working in search and rescue too, by teaching about safety in Tourism, outdoors, first aid, orienteering and more for many, many years. The Golden Circle has been the most popular day tour in Iceland for decades - almost since the first tourist arrived to the country. On a rather short day, you will visit the famous Geyser area to experience its neighbour Strokkur erupting. The famous Gullfoss - the Golden waterfall, is described by so many as the most beatiful waterfall in Iceland - or some just say WOW. Þingvellir National Park is so unique in geology and for Iceland's history. Where else in the world can you walk between two continents? We could even check out some Game of Thrones locations if we're in the mood. Did you know that Tolkien - the author of Lord of The Rings had an icelandic babysitter? Of course, we will stop at the Kerið volcanic crater, so within one day, 4 main stops, so unlike each other that it's actually very strange they're even in the same area and of course I'll show you my favorite viewpoint at Þingvellir National Park - overlooking some Game of Thrones locations.

Reykjavik, Iceland - We chose Jonas G as our guide for his Golden Circle Tour. We could not have been more pleased as he provided us with so much information about the history, culture and everyday life in his city and country. He was accommodating to the two languages of our party. He also stopped at places of interest along the drive giving us a moment to use the facilities and shop for local handmade items. Jonas was amazing. We was informative and knowledgeable. He was extremely engaging. The Golden Circle was amazing to see. The views were spectacular.He helped us take pictures. He took us to a local farm to eat which was good. Amazing ice cream. He explained the history of each place, and Iceland in general. I would reccomed him highly for any tour.
The following itinerary could be turned, meaning, we could schedule the stops in a different order to avoid the most crowded hours. It's also customizable per request. ·First stop is the Kerið, a volcanic crater whose main color is surprisingly red. Plus, did you know there's a lake at the bottom? ·About 45 min drive from Kerið is our next stop. The Golden waterfall, or Gullfoss in Icelandic, is amazing in every season. I'll tell you why we can say thank you to Sigríður (born 1871) for seeing this waterfall. ·Only 15 minutes away is the Geysir geothermal area, with all its colors and the main attraction, Strokkur hot spring erupting every 7 - 10 minutes. From Geysir we will stop for lunch (paid on spot) at Friðheimar tomato and horse farm but at the bar you can get the very famous tomato soup and more… ·Last but not least: Þingvellir National Park. The continental divide - amazingly beatiful place, so rich in the history of Iceland, besides a famous Game of Thrones location
