The Golden Circle is Iceland's most popular route. It introduces you to Iceland's most famous natural attractions, such as Thingvellir National Park, the geothermally active Haukadalur Valley with Geysir and Strokkur geysers, and one of Iceland's symbols, Gullfoss Waterfall. We will also have lunch at the Fridheimar tomato greenhouse and finish the trip with a visit to the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa (not suitable for children under 12). My suggested itinerary can also be tailored to your interests; please let me know if you would like to change it or add any activities. Places to visit: • Thingvellir National Park. Stop for one hour. Walk along the Almanagja fissure, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates move apart. Thingvellir is also well known as the General Assembly place, which settlers have used since the Viking Age. • Haukadalur Geysir Valley. Stop for one hour. Take a short walk to explore the hot springs, including the original Geysir, and watch several eruptions of the Strokkur geyser. • Gullfoss Waterfall. Stop for one hour. View the two mighty cascading waterfalls from different angles and walk the lower trail closer to the waterfall. • Fridheimar Greenhouse. Stop for one hour. For lunch, visit a tomato greenhouse. • Sky Lagoon SPA. Stop for two hours. Soak in the warm waters of the geothermal pool and experience a refreshing Icelandic ritual of seven steps.
