It is adventure to drive in this modified superjeeps, mainly into the highlands and up to the glaciers, going with a professional driver who knows his country and conditions very well, especially in the winter time when the weather can be unpredictable. I'm in the mountaineering and have been a member of the Icelandic Alpine Club and the Icelandic Mountain & Rescue teams in Iceland for many years, so I know the highlands and the glaciers very well. Overview of your Reykjavik tour
It is a adventure tour exploring the second biggest glacier Langjökull both from outside and inside. We drive in our super jeep up on top of the glacier and also going deep down into the glacier. On our way to the glacier we will stop at the biggest Hot Spring in Europe Deildartunguhver and we also visit Reykholt a tiny village in west Iceland, which was once home to one of the world's greatest medieval writers. Packed with history and culture. We stop at the magnificent Hraunfossar a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 metres out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field which flowed from an eruption of one of the volcanoes lying under the glacier Langjökull. Before we head to the glacier we will have a lunch stop at Husafell. After the glacier adventure we will drive mountain road called Kaldidalur (cold valley) and through Þingvellir National Park back to Reykjavík, but only during summer time june-okt In wintertime we can stop at Krauma hotspring bathing spa.
