My name is Haraldur G. I'm 59 years old and born and raised in Iceland. I'm a friendly and nature loving person and I live with my family in Garðabær, a town next to Reykjavík city. I have many years of experience in guiding tourists around our beautifully iceland, the land of fire and ice, and have a passion for showing travellers the Icelandic untouched Nature which is truly an amazing and fascinating. My customers can choose between two cars, highly modified luxury 4x4 superjeep, Dodge Ram, very comfortable for 1-4 passangers, and a Toyota Landcruiser 4x4 Luxury jeep, comfotable for 1-3 passanger. It is adventure to drive in this modified superjeeps, mainly into the highlands and up to the glaciers, going with a professional driver who knows his country and conditions very well, especially in the winter time when the weather can be unpredictable. I'm in the mountaineering and have been a member of the Icelandic Alpine Club and the Icelandic Mountain & Rescue teams in Iceland for many years, so I know the highlands and the glaciers very well. The journey along the south coust with all the breathtaking waterfalls, and some that can be walked behind. Driving the Shouth Shore with all that nature power around, the majestic glaciers with their dramatic volcanoes which could erupt any time, and the North Atlandic Ocean on the other side, we drive as far as the Village with the short name Vík. It is always so fascinating the South Coast of this island of fire and ice, especially this great volcanic activity and rugged nature. I lived here in this area for 10 years, in next village of Vík, with this long name Kirkjubæjarklaustur, so I'm always proud of this area and by taking this tour with me, I wants my guests to experience it the same way I have always done, an unforgettable day.
Your Reykjavik tour itinerary
• After you have been picked up at your accoommodation we will be driving east along the south coast, it might be interested to stop at the Lava Center, wher you can see all about volcanic activity of this area which we are going to spend the day. • We will visit the uninc waterfall Seljalandsfoss (180 ft ) where you can walk behind him . • Next I will take you to the gorgeus waterfall Skógafoss ( 200 ft ) along one of the most popular hiking route in this are, and here is also the old Skóga museum about the architectural heritage and the live in turf houses. • Above the south coast are majestic two glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull, which erupt 2010 and Mýrdalsjökull with the powerful volacano Katla under the ice cap. • Along the south shore and endless black sand beaches is 300ft. high Dyrahólaey with all the birdlife in the sea cliffs. • And near the village of Vík, we have on of the highlights, the black sand beach with the impressive Reynisdrangar basalt rock formations and Puffins in the cliffs.
