My name is Sóla. I am born here in Iceland. I love to hike up in the mountains, watch the birds in the summer time and swim in our geothermal swimming pools the whole year around. I studied photography in the States many years ago, worked in Germany and studied French in France. As a child my family spent one year in Denmark. I started tour guiding at 22 when I came home from France because of my knowlege of French. Back then all the roads were dirt roads, there were no telephones and we slept in tents and I still enjoy camping out and hiking out in the nature! I would love to share with you my love for my country and share with you some of it's most beautiful places. Be it the most popular turist spots or the remote and untouched wildernes areas, qaint little villages or cafés. I try my very best to show you the places that would appeal to you. I have a great knowledge of my country and have been working as a tour guide and a driver guide for many many years. I have a fully licensed and a very comfortable and spacious 4x4 Ford Excursion that can take you amost everywhere. Hope to hear from you soon. Greetings from Iceland. Fully licensed Day Tour Operator from the Icelandic Tourist Board. A valid passenger transportation licence from the Icelandic Transport Authority. A fully insured vehicle and guide for passenger transportation. Up to date first aid courses from the Icelandic Red Cross. None

The Snæfellsnes peninsula has such a unique landscape. It is full of beautiful beaches and coves, fishing villages, waterfalls, high mountains and the home to the famous Snaefellsjokull Glacier. In the past farmers would send their workers to the coast in the middle of the winter to fish cod. It was a tough and dangerous job. Many hundred men were sometimes staying by Djupalonssandur or in other coves in Snaefellsnes for months at a time. At Bjarnarhofn farm they no longer catch the Greenland shark but they are among the only ones in Iceland that still process the shark today. If interested we can pay them a visit (not included in price). In the winter we always have the chance to view of the Northern Lights in the evening. The days are short and the nights are long. We travel in a sturdy and spacious 4 x 4 truck.
Day one 09:00: Pick up in Reykjavik. 11:00: A visit to the magnificent Hraunfossar waterfalls in Borgarfjordur district. 12:30- 13:30: We start driving out to the Snaefellsnes peninsula with a short rest or lunch stop in Borgarnes. 15:30. Arnarstapi fishing village has one of the most beautiful harbours in Iceland.
