Ulrich was amazing! He gave us an insightful Third Reich Tour through Munich. He was very knowledgeable about the topic and also gave us great historical information about Munich as well. As we walked throughout the city Ulrich gave tips about the best bakeries and water fountains, and other helpful visitor information. I was so glad we did this tour earlier in our journey, so we have time to go back and enjoy his other suggestions, both historical and social tips. We were traveling with our 2 children, age 10 and 13. He was engaging with them, and understanding when we needed to take a quick stop for a grab and go snack. Both have knowledge of World War 2 and have learned a lot about the topic prior to our tour. There are strict restrictions concerning children on these types of tours and museums, but Ulrich did an amazing job making the tour appropriate for them.

I have a degree in business and worked as journalist and press relation manager. My first plan was to stay some years in Munich, as I could work in Bavarian broadcasting and television. By and by I became an expert in THIRD REICH TOURS and as well for EAGLES NEST, which is located in the Alpes Mountains and was finally Hitlers second power center after Berlin. The idea of this City Walk is to combine history with views on Munich today. Our tour offers an informative and entertaining walk through the old town. I want to show you, how much Munich has changed since the time of the Nazis. We start with a review of the destructions done by World War II at the vibrant main square. Then follow the footsteps of Adolf Hitler on his way to power, from the first mass meeting at Hofbräuhaus to the failed beer hall riot at Feldherrenhalle. You will get the full picture and understand, how the ultimate catastrophe could happen. On our way I'll tell you more about shopping malls, restaurants and the most impressing monuments of the city. We will see memorials of the war and remaining Nazi buildings at Königsplatz, often called the spiritual center of the regime. It will be a historically well-founded timetravel which includes the current city policy and insider tips for dining and places to go.

Ulrich Büttner was an amazing guide! We met up in Old Town and then he took us throughout the city of Munich pointing out not only Third Reich/WWII facts and historic spots but also gave us information about Munich. We learned many new historical facts and also got a good "lay of the land" of Munich. I would 100% recommend this tour and Urlich as your guide.
Ulrich is a great communicator and story teller, and my husband (who admittedly is a history buff) felt this was the best TBL tour he has ever taken! Even for those of us less immersed in history, I felt he connected the dots for us from what people typically know and the 'insiders' story of what happened there on the ground. A bonus for us is that Ulrich went above and beyond when we had a snafu with transportation to introduce us to the subway system and ensure we made it back to our starting location with ease. We hope to visit again and Ulrich will be someone we will definitely look up!
Ulrich was very knowledgeable about the history of Munich and the events that happened around the times of the WWs. He planned our tour well, taught us a lot, and even took the extra effort to make sure we had time to warm up in the cold. Highly recommended!
