Hello and Grüß Gott, I am Ulrich from Bavaria. Since 2010 I am guiding tours in Munich ordered and authorized by the townhall: CITY WALKs, BYCICLE and FOOD MARKET tours. I have a degree in business and worked as journalist and press relation manager. My first plan was to stay some years in Munich, as I could work in Bavarian broadcasting and television. And then go back to Nuremberg, my home town. 26 years have passed and I still love to be here. Since 2015 I have the official license as a tour guide at DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP. My customers are international travelers and school groups. By and by I became an expert in THIRD REICH TOURS and as well for EAGLES NEST, which is located in the Alpes Mountains and was finally Hitlers second power center after Berlin. I want to fill you with my own entusiam for Munich and the sourrounding areas. Explaining history and showing every day life I make you understand Bavarian culture. I will sculpt the tours according to your needs and interests as I am a passionate traveler myself. Travelling was my passion for many years. Half a year I studied in Spain, then I visited the most pitoresque sites in Europe and many places in Asia and America. My special interests are history, art and literature. In my free time I write crime novels and a Facebook blog about books. - studied business administration, Spanish, Theater and German literature - passed the examination as a Munich tour guide at Munich Walk Tours 2011 - got the license for Dachau memorial after 6 month training 2015 As it is not allowed in Germany to transport people in private cars without a license I cannot offer lifts to Dachau, Salzburg, Neuschwanstein Castle or Eagles Nest.

Our tour offers an informative and entertaining walk through the old town. It will give you a good overlook to the most appealing highlights. We will have a historically well-founded time-travel which includes the current city policy and insider tips for shopping and dining. We will talk about the damages of WWII and how Germany could move out from that desaster. We meet Michael Jackson afterwards, and I want to show you what is behind Munichs old style facades. You will hear anectodes about the founders of Theatinerchurch - and see a surprising connection between Fieldmarshallhall and Americas Civil War. Beside "must see-topics" we visit the most picturesque areas for shopping, drinking and eating. Discover the heart of Munich, which is a pulsating market, and have new insights about the locals! Its a place, where salt and beer came together and a most sucessful city was born.
As mentioned in the summary you will see the hightlights in the old town. From Marienplatz, where the history of Munich started, we walk to the Frauenkirche, a landmark of Munich. We walk through the inner city in a big circle. Crossing Promenadeplatz and 5 Höfe we reach Odeonsplatz and Theatinerchurch. There we have a look to the former Royal Garden (Hofgarten), State Chanclery and Residenz. Next stops will be Max-Joseph-Square (Opera), the famous Dallmayer shop and the old side gate of the town. After we have reached the Bavarian Food Market we decide, how to finish the tour. Have a look as well to the slide show in the Gallery to get an idea about the tour!
