Hello, and welcome to Munich! After living in Munich for more than 20 years I decided to turn my passion for history (and stories) into my new profession. So I started the training to become an official licensed tour guide in Munich and after some blood, sweat and tears finally got the license to guide guests in my most favorite city in Germany. Most surprising for me was, that even though I knew most of the sites and had seen them regularly, I hadn't understood what those buildings or paintings meant, because I hadn't known the history behind it. For several years now, I love to show this city with all the highlights and hidden gems, the architecture and the novelties - and the story and history behind it. Let me tell you about the little quirks and traditions in Germany, Bavaria and Munich and see this city through my eyes. And then hopefully you will understand, why I love this city so much. Overview of your Munich tour
This tour can take place only between November 24th and December 24th 2025. Discover the magical atmosphere and the tradition of the oldest Christkindlmarkt in Munich and find out what makes this Christmas market so special. It’s said, that the roots of the Christkindlmarkt date back to the 14th century – back than mentioned as St. Nicholas markets or “Nicolai-Dult” and first documented in 1642 near the Schöner Turm. In 1806 this traditional market was renamed and takes now place in the heart of the city as the „Münchner Christkindlmarkt”. When the Christmas tree with 3000 candles shines in all its glory, and with all the scents of roasted almonds, the mulled wine wafting in the air, pre-Christmas magic fills the centre of Munich.
