Bordeaux Gourmet Half-Day Private Tour

Choose to go an a culinary adventure with me, to discover Bordeaux's gastronomical history, and taste some fine specialties. Bordeaux is well known for its wine. But did you know that it also has one on the best local shops in the south of France to taste chocolates ? With my Bordeaux Gourmet tour, I will guide you through the nice cobbled street of the old Bordeaux. You will learn everything about its legends and heritage, from the 18th century Place de la Bourse and its water mirror, to the charming 15 th c. "Big bell" of Bordeaux. Along the way, we can stop into several shops to try both sweet and salty specialties ; from the local rhum and vanilla based " cannelés of Bordeaux", to a local puff pastry called " dune ", but also some fine cheese, charcuterie or chocolates! Are you ready for this gourmet experience ?

Here is our itinerary : After meeting at your hotel, we can take the tram or walk to the city center of Bordeaux. Here are some of the places that we will see : - The Quinconces square and its beautiful 19 th c. fountain; - The Great Theater, inspired on roman architecture, - The Cathedral St Andrew : A must-see in the heart of Bordeaux, where Eleanor of Aquitaine and Louis the 7th got married, - The 18th c. Cailhau Gate on Gambetta square, - The old Bordeaux and the " Big bell ", in the Saint Eloi district . During this tour , there are up to 4 different food stores that we can try, regarding your preferences : - a local " cannelé " shop with organic pastry (rhum, vanilla, eggs) - a sweet " dune " (puff pastry filled with light cream) - some " guinette " (candied cherry covered in chocolate and cooked in armagnac). - If you are more in the mood for salty specialties, we can also try a cheese shop and some charcuterie, along the way.
