Getting on for 40 years experience in region enables me to take you around the vineyards of Bordeaux and open doors for visits that truly go behind the scenes. We taste some amazing wines and meet some amazing people! The people that make the wine have become my friends. Since arriving in Bordeaux in 1989 by 2CV from England, the Bordeaux region, its wines and people have become my passion and my life! Step into my world and really get a feel for this amazing dynamic place. Each itinerary is individually created for you - I know the secrets of the region and cant wait to share them with you. I can offer you a unique insider's authentic view of Bordeaux. It will be a fun, informative experience you will never forget and quite different to the other wine tours of Bordeaux available. I specialise in the SIPs - smaller independent producers where we can meet the winemaker and taste some amazing wines. Bordeaux is big and there is lots of opportunity (if you know where to look just on the wrong side of a famous border....) to find great value high quality authentic wines. I love the Grand Cru Classé too and surprisingly there are many that offer excellent quality and value. The 2014 vintage is underated and drinking beautifully now. (Many chateaux ship now so you can enjoy your memories when you get home too.) Most of my favourite properties are still family-owned, many are biodynamic or organic, most are classified and all produce great wine. (there are 7000 properties in Bordeaux and only around 200 of them belong to the elite group called the Grand Cru Classé). Of course we will see both to see and taste a well-rounded view. My wish is that each of my 'tours' is an authentic, unique and hopefully unforgettable experience during which we have the opportunity to share our interest in wine, have fun and learn along the way. I never stop learning about this fascinating subject! You may find my Bordeaux Wine Blog helpful in planning your trip (with restaurant recommendations and maps and information to orientate yourself) and once you book, you will have access to this too. This short tour is your chance to see the real France. Your guide (a trained chef) will show you the local products of this rich food (and wine!) region pointing out the seasonal produce and what to do with it! Famous for its cheeses, charcuterie, meats, fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry and seafood - there is everything to go with every style of wine that the region produces. We will then visit the beautiful, hilly region of Fronsac with its fairytale castles, woods and glimpses of the Dordogne River. Historically it was even more famous than its illustrious neighbout St Emilion - today it is rather in its shadow. (It is here that I first fell in love with Bordeaux). Arriving at this small single estate vineyard, the winemaker ad owner will explain to us her story of how she arrived here and started making wine. We will taste the range of award winning wines and hear about the techniques used to make them. A short ramble in the vineyards to work up an appetite for a light seasonal meal that matches the wines

We had a fantastic day with Nicolle. Highly recommend !
An absolutely amazing day! We spent the entire day with Nicolle and enjoyed every minute of it. Nicolle accommodated every request we had and went above and beyond out expectations each time. She even added side events we didn’t expect that turned out to be some more amazing experiences. Top notch storytelling, knowledge and she knows every little path and every person along the way. You can not go wrong and will have the best time you can imagine. Thank you Nicole for one of our best days ever!
We enjoyed our 2nd day touring with Nicolle. Like our first day, it was a wonderful experience. She took us to the market in Libourne, something we could have never navigated on our own. Lunch at the Sardines festival was so much fun followed by an ancient church and monolith. We finished our day at a lovely Chateau, Chateau Le Chatelet who has a 100% merlot that is beyond amazing. Without Nicolle we would have never experienced these places.
Four of us had a wonderful day with Nicolle. She picked us up promptly at our apartment and we drove off to a lesser know wine region which was absolutely beautiful- Fronsac. Our wine tasting and lunch at George 7 was great. Great tour guide - knowledgeable about wines and the area's history.
