This is an four hours tour of Salzburg. Starting with a walking tour through the Mirabell gardens, then over the bridge to downtown into the famous Getreidegasse. You will see the cathedral, Residence sand the oldest part of Salzburg Saint Peter's, At the Mozart square we will pick up the bikes to ride to the palaces Leopoldskron, Fronburg and Hellbrunn. As this it includes the sights of Sound of Music in the city as well as the beauty of our landscape.
Our morning and early afternoon with Didi were a key highlight of our 8-day tour of Europe. His knowledge of and passion for European history generally, and Salzburg specifically was amazing. We particularly enjoyed bike riding through outskirts of Salzburg and finishing off the tour at Didi's friend's pup to enjoy some football! We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour was not actually conducted by Didi. He had told me in advance he might be running late from his morning tour but had a substitute lined up for us. The locations from the Sound of Music were interesting to see.
Walking Part: - Mirabell Palace, - Walk through the Mirabell gardens, - Makartsquare with Mozart Residence, - Theatres and Birthplace of Doppler and - Karajan. Crossing river Salzach. Walk into Getreidegasse Mozart's Birthplace, - University, - Festival houses, - Saint Peter, - Dom (Cathedral), - Residence Square and - Mozart's Square. Biking Part: - Nonnberg Abbey, - Leopoldskron Palace, - Gössl's Gwandhaus, - Fronburg Palace and Palace Hellbrunn. Return along the river Salzach.
