The Hills Are Alive – Salzburg & Hallstatt Private Day Tour

We had a good tour exploring the countryside around Salzburg, highlighting Sound of Music sites. And most surprisingly, we had snow on September 12!! It was a great day and we appreciate Manfred's efforts to make it special and memorable.

Having the choice of seeing the SOM sites in a smaller group and still get so many more local attractions on the way to Hallstatt is fantastic. I think it was a perfect pairing of two worlds; the tourist driven Sound of Music and the sites and sounds of the mountains and small towns. Also, the smaller tour in a comfy van was a preference of ours and probably of many that want a quieter, more quaint and personal tour. Our guide, Manfred, is full of energy, knowledge, and humor.

Excellent guide!! Manfred was knowledgeable and fun. He is passionate about his homeland and made our day a pure delight. He knew the most beautiful spots off the beaten path. If I had the week to do over again, I would book him for several days and have him show us around. You will not regret having him for a guide.

Manfred was an excellent guide. He picked us up at our hotel and explained the itinerary for the day, places that would be most crowded and the best time to see other attractions. He asked questions to find out our interests and then planned a fabulous tour around our interests taking us to places most tours don't go! He was very knowable of the area and was always willing to stop for photos. He recommended a restaurant and it was excellent. (The best I had in Austria!!!) It was an unforgettable day

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour by Manfred. He was knowledgeable, conversational and made the tour a very enjoyable afternoon for our family. He was able to show us all the highlights of the Sound of Music and even locations where buses and larger vehicles don't have access. The pace of the tour was perfect and we saw so much of Salzburg and the outer city. He included some beautiful waterfalls &lakes touring as well. He made great recommendations on how to spend the balance of our time in Salzburg. A+++

Very nice tour. Manfred was a couple of minutes late, but his instructions were very clear and we had reached him by his mobile, so it was perfectly fine. He picked us up in a nice car and took to some great vantage points to see Salzburg and the surrounding areas. We did a hybrid Sound of Music tour and also visited the countryside. He was completely flexible, very knowledgeable and personable. I would recommend anyone to use him. His English was excellent.
