Hello my dear guests, I was born and raised in Salzburg. I did my University in Kufstein, Austria. Since my studies I was doing tour guiding. I lived for about 10 years in northern Italy (close to Milan) where I wrote my theses, worked there in a company and did my license for becoming a tour guide in the region of Lombardia. My wife brought me back to Salzburg where I immediately did my license for tour guiding and also for being able to drive the people around. My passion is it to concentrate and learn more about my guests and fulfill their interest and giving you a great time during your vacation. Looking forward welcoming and hosting you in Salzburg, Munich, Linz, Vienna, or Innsbruck I am a licensed Austria guide. I have the license of driving the people around (please check for the M behind the windscreen and in the usage of the car must be code one from 22-31). All licenses can be checked any time and are carried with in the car or personally. I am Austria Guide for english, italian and german and I have a panorama glass roof van limousine service.

Overview of your Salzburg tour

Let me take you to the world's biggest ice caves. An amazing trip to the permanent ice. It is already spectacular to drive up to the parking lot. You will see natural valleys and mountain views that are hard to find anywhere else. A walk of about 20 minutes brings you to one of Austria's steepest cable cars. Warm yourself up with another 20-minute hike to the entrance before entering the permanent natural ice in the cave. It is an adventure to see the ice figures, and the roughly 1,400 steps inside will make sure that you do not feel the cold. Walking through the formations and through the ice is a great thing. After a small lunch we will see the fortress of Werfen, the castle from the film "Where Eagles Dare", with a falconry show, taking you back in history to the 16th and 17th century with some fun and eye openers that make history come alive. Looking forward to showing you Werfen!

Bernhard was an absolutely amazing tour guide. Our family enjoyed getting to spend the day with him. He was so knowledgeable about everything Austrian, and he went above and beyond on this tour. He walked up to the Ice caves with us, knew of the perfect local Austrian restaurant for lunch, and answered every question our teens (and my husband) could throw at him. The next time we are in Salzburg, we will be finding another tour to do with him. This tour was overall great. The views from the mountain that we hiked up were incredible, and the Ice Cave was beautiful. The salt mine, although corny at times, was a lot of fun, and you can tell the people there have put a ton of work into building a fun family-learning experience.

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Bernd. He was so great to work with and customized the itinerary with the things our boys ages 10, 12, and 14 would like best. We hiked though the ice caves, ate a delicious lunch, toured a medieval fortress, watched a falconry show, and saw incredible scenery along the way. According to our children, 5 stars is not enough for Bernd! He was professional, very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with all my kids questions. We highly recommend this tour and Bernd!

Bernd was a truly amazing guide. He was on time and really flexible with our days plan due to inclement weather. He was wonderful with our children and careful about the way he shared information about WWII- so the kids wouldn't be frightened. He took us to 2 additional sights (summer tobagoning-which was awesome) and a Sound of Music detour. He also recommended a lovey restaurant that was off the beaten path with only locals and had amazing food. I highly recommend. He has a true wealth of knowledge!!

Your Salzburg tour itinerary

On this tour I will pick you up in our comfortable panorama glass roof vehicle and drive with you to the countryside. During the summer time (1st. May to 26th October) I drive directly to Werfen - a countryside village in the south of Salzburg. There you have the possibility to visit the Ice caves a enjoy a cable car ride up the mountain before entering. After that visit to the ice caves (takes ca. 2, 5hrs) in the mountain you return to the village of Werfen and have a look at the fortress's with it's falconry. The fortress has an over 900 years old history. During winter time, when the ice caves are closed I offer you the saltmines in Hallein/Bad Dürrnberg instead(extra entrance fee). There you will see the mine and find a few adventures on your way (kids must be over 4 years). Please note - the ice cave, the fortress and the saltmine have separate entrance fees. I will assist you at getting a discount and a skip-the line-ticket.
