Icecaves/saltmines and Fortress Hohenwerfen - a day trip from Salzburg

Let me take you to the world's biggest ice caves. An amazing trip to the permanent ice. It is already spectacular to drive up to the parking lot. You will see natural valleys and mountain views that are hard to find anywhere else. A walk to the cable car through a cave is nice and comfortable before taking one of Austria's steepest cable cars that was already used in the movie: "Where eagles dare". Warm yourself up with another 15minutes hike to the entrance before entering the permanent natural ice in the cave. It is an adventure to see the ice figures and the 600 steps inside will make sure that you do not feel the cold. Walking through the formations and through the ice is a great thing. After a small lunch we will see the fortre'ss of Werfen with a falconry show and taking you then back in history to the 16th and 17th century with some fun and eye's opener to make history alive. On this tour I will pick you up in our comfortable panorama glass roof vehicle and drive with you to the countryside. During the summer time (1st. May to 26th October) I drive directly to Werfen - a countryside village in the south of Salzburg. There you have the possibility to visit the Ice caves a enjoy a cable car ride up the mountain before entering. After that visit to the ice caves (takes ca. 2, 5hrs) in the mountain you return to the village of Werfen and have a look at the fortress's with it's falconry. The fortress has an over 900 years old history. During winter time, when the ice caves are closed I offer you the saltmines in Hallein/Bad Dürrnberg instead(extra entrance fee). There you will see the mine and find a few adventures on your way (kids must be over 4 years). Please note - the ice cave, the fortress and the saltmine have separate entrance fees.
