Hi everyone! My name is Carlos and I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Salzburg. Home of Mozart and the Sound of Music, where culture, history and architecture are surrounded by the majestic Alps and the breathtaking Lake District. Carlos is an engaging personality with a world of information about this area. He expertly navigated the roads and procedures to the Eagle's Nest and a Konigsee cruise. He seemed to know everyone. The topper was an unscheduled stop - the actual mountain location where Julie Andrews was filmed singing "the hills are alive...." in "The Sound of Music." Thank you Carlos for that special bonus!
Carlos was our favorite tour guide for our 2 weeks in Europe! Full of interesting knowledge, helpful in deciding what to do with our time, comfortable vehicle, interesting conversations about various topics. Highly recommend any tour with Carlos!
We spent the whole day with Carlos learning many of the intricacies and 'tricks of the Hollywood trade' in filming 'The Sound of Music'. Carlos' knowledge of the characters and their real-life counterparts was an added plus. Throw in an afternoon trip to Hitler's Eagle's Nest and a delightful lunch in a Berthesgarden sidewalk cafe it made for an interesting and educational day.
Carlos is an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and informative. Carlos was able to spontaneously change the itinerary of our tour to fit our desires. He was thoughtful, kind, and absolutely fantastic with us. I can not recommend him enough.
Carlos was extremely knowledgeable with facts & historical information, had a great sense of humor, and efficiently transported us through the scenic Austrian/German countryside. He had many tidbits of fascinating information about things we drove by. Carlos is an experienced guide, and knew how to manage our time well (we even had time to squeeze in some Sound of Music sights!). He was very polite yet personable, and cared about meeting our needs. I can't recommend him highly enough!
Carlos was terrific. He knew his material and presented it well. His personality is engaging -- he was simply fun to have as a companion. He was also very helpful to us when we encountered travel delays both in adjusting the times of our tours and in ensuring that our hotel reservations were in order. There were three of us traveling, me, my wife and our grandson. All of us agreed that of the four guides we engaged on our trip Carlos was by far the best.
Begin your morning with panoramic views across the Alps from Hitler's historic mountain retreat, known as the Eagle's Nest. Descending from the Obersalzberg on the way to the town of Berchtesgaden we will also show you the underground bunker complexes (closed on Tuesday), and the location where Adolf Hitler had his house the Berghof. Then visit the town of Berchtesgaden with your Guide and have time to purchase lunch in one of the typical Bavarian restaurants (own expense). In the afternoon you can choose between exploring the underground world of a 450 year old salt mine or taking a boat ride to St Bartholomew's on the Königsee, a glacial lake situated in a valley surrounded by the Bavarian Alps.
