Hello ! I am a native of Salzburg and I have been working in the tourist business since 1996. Initially being a tour guide was more a student job besides my studies of business administration, in which I have an MBA degree. After a while I noticed that this is not only a job, it is my real passion. Since then, I have been doing tours in large parts of Europe on coaches, minivans and ships during river cruises. Apart from my mother language German, I am fluent in English and Spanish and can provide a big knowledge of history and geography in a relaxed way. In my free time I love to go mountain hiking, sailing and skiing. Additionally I am very interested in magic art and I am member of the magical society in Salzburg for many years. Overview of your Salzburg tour
On this tour you visit two different areas of Austria, the Salzburg Alpine region around Filzmoos, one hour south of Salzburg City, and the famous Lakes District in the east, which is also known as the Sound of Music area. The first part of this full-day tour is the horse-drawn sleigh ride. The exact itinerary for the sleigh ride itself is described under the horse-drawn sleigh ride Tour. After the sleigh ride our way takes us through a beautiful mountain scenery to one of the nicest areas in Austria, the Lakes district. You will definitely enjoy breathtaking views across the lakes !! If you want to take a lot of beautiful and different experiences out of your day, including alpine regions with massive mountains, alpine wooden houses, charming little towns and awesome lakes, then this is the perfect combination tour.
Your Salzburg tour itinerary
From your hotel in Salzburg this tour leads first to the Castle of Leopoldskron (von Trapp family home in the movie) Then to the Gazebo at the Park of Hellbrunn and further southwards to Filzmoos in the Salzburg Alpine region, where you will enjoy the horse-drawn sleigh ride. The sleigh ride takes you to a famous mountain lodge, where you will have Lunch. After this you will go back to the valley of Filzmoos. From there the tour leads to the scenic lakes district east of Salzburg past Lake Fuschl to St. Gilgen at Lake Wolfgang, where you will enjoy the areal view across the lake (at the beginning of the movie SOM). Then we will continue our way to the lake and the town of Mondsee, where you can visit the wedding church of the movie. From there it is a short way back to your hotel in Salzburg.
