Guide #62387
I am passionate about American History, and am excited to share the large, immersive, outdoor classroom of Center City Philadelphia with you. I am a former Professor of Early American History, a docent at Carpenters Hall, a volunteer with the Independence Historic Trust, and a Research Fellow of the First Continental Congress. I have been a volunteer guide at Powel House, Washingtons Crossing, Moland House, and Laurel Hill Cemetary. I believe that the story of our country is built upon the people, the stories, and the struggles of our founders. I thrive on talking about these amazing people, and will be excited to show the specific sites that define our past. I also believe that an awesome tour stays with you forever. I promise not to download dozens of dates and facts that will be forgotten in a few days. My goal is to amaze you with the stories that teach, explain, and instill you with the same pride that I feel every time I walk through this most amazing city. Mark was an awesome tour guide. We did a three hour tour and it flew by. Mark added interesting stories and tidbits that made the history of the American Revolution come alive. We were thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!
Mark takes you back in time with his knowledge of the revolutionary era. The background and detailed understanding of the events and area around Philadelphia where fantastic. Mark adapted the tour to the things we were interested in. Was the best walking tour guide we have had on History tours. I highly recommend taking this tour!
