Greetings from Chicago! My name is Colm and I'd love to show you around my favorite city! I am a certified tour guide and enjoy meeting new people who wish to share my passion for Chicago's architecture and history. I have lived in Chicago for most of my adult life although I originally hale from Dublin, Ireland, so I know how to tell a story! I empathize with travelers because I'm a keen traveler myself and always hire a guide in a foreign place to discover its secrets, learn its history, and hopefully be entertained! In turn, I pride myself on revealing the real Chicago, avoiding some of the crowded tourist traps and offering a way to get to know the city's famous places more intimately. Feel free to ask me for recommendations for Chicago's best museums, attractions and dining. Always happy to take pictures and videos of my guests on all my tours. All tours are customizable so if you would like me to combine 2 tours, add a trip to the Art Institute, or extend a tour please feel free to reach out to me. My husband grew up in Chicago, left for college, and never returned. He was reluctant to visit Chicago as a tourist. Colm helped him appreciate this incredible city. After our first tour, he (my husband) thanked me for bringing him here. We had a marvelous time; I joked that the tour should be called the "stiff neck tour" as we wandered on a beautifully efficient walk...

Beginning at the historic Palmer House, we saw the remarkable vaulted ceiling and Tiffany chandeliers. The peacock doors and architectural details were informative and exciting. Then we went walking underground, discovering the practicality of the underground walkways, their use in movies, and the highlights of coming above ground to the Chicago Cultural Center and more...

Chicago came alive with Colm's incredible insight into the architects and history of this famous river. He did the tour in reverse of what most might do, walking us along the river and pointing out the features. Then, we arrived at the river taxi and rode back to see the sights from the water. It was fabulous.

We asked for a driving tour to see highlights of Chicago. Colm was outstanding. He has stories about everywhere that he weaves naturally into conversations. He left us feeling not only that we knew Chicago but that we'd made a friend.
