Yet my fascination for art led me to study and obtain a Degree in Art History (2001). I enjoyed working in art galleries, but the more I learned and understood about Barcelona, a city I compare to an 'open-air museum', the more I felt like moving beyond the walls of the gallery and out into the streets. So, in 2010, I became a Fully Licensed Tour Guide. That day was the first day of the rest of my life and the discovery of what has become my true passion. I am naturally curious and always looking for more and new things to discover. They say curiosity killed the cat. . . but oh how satisfaction brings it back, day after day! As your guide, I want to tell you the story of Barcelona, but not as a story that simply unfolds before your eyes. I want you to see Barcelona in its context, to touch it, breath it… experience it. In the Picasso Museum, for instance, whether you see a painting from up close or from a distance, from a right angle or from the left, provides you with an insight that allows you to understand a genius of the magnitude of Picasso. For a little while I want you to get lost in a conversation; one which, like all good conversations, does not have a script, but rather takes shape as it takes place. Forget about everything else and join me on an unforgettable journey across Barcelona through time. I believe all my tours are customized, because no two people are the same, and the customization is wherever the journey takes you and me; the journey in which Barcelona and your interests merge into your unique experience. I want to awaken intrigue, fascination… I want you to ask me questions and be an active part of the visit. Like that, I am simply the narrator, Barcelona is the setting, and you are the protagonist. I will give you all the basics you need, of course; but I will take you beyond that and show you the authentic Barcelona, the Barcelona that every day still reveals something new, even to me. This city offers a wealth of history, art, culture, customs, traditions… But so often beauty and authenticity lie in the detail, and the details are so often overlooked.
