Hello from Tokyo! I am Yuichi, your Visual Storyteller & Local Expert. 【Experience & Philosophy】 With over 10 years of experience guiding more than 6,000 guests, I am proud to say I have friends all over the world. My philosophy is simple: I don't just act as a "Tokyo Expert"; I guide you as your "Best Friend in Tokyo." I want you to feel as relaxed and excited as if you were visiting an old friend. 【Who I Am】 Born and raised in Tokyo, I hold a National Government Licensed Guide certification (English/2016). My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Global Information and Telecommunication Studies (Multimedia) and a Bachelor's in Sociology from Waseda University. (Fun fact: Waseda is the alma mater of Haruki Murakami and has produced numerous Prime Ministers.) I also studied at NYU, which gave me a global perspective and fluent English. I "decode" Japanese culture through the lens of history, sociology, and cinematic storytelling. 【My Trademarks & Discipline】 You can't miss me in the crowd! Look for the guy with Blonde hair and a Headband. Despite the creative look, I am a disciplined professional. I hold a Black Belt in Karate (Okinawa Goju-ryu) and used to be a semi-professional skier. I bring that same discipline to my tour logistics. (If you love winter sports, ask me for recommendations on the best ski resorts in Japan!) 【A True Foodie】 With two uncles who are professional "Itamae" (Japanese Chefs), I grew up walking the alleys of Tsukiji Market since I was 5 years old. I have a strict tongue for quality, so I promise to take you to authentic local gems, avoiding tourist traps. 【Personal Side: Dog Lover】 I am a huge dog lover and actively support rescue dog activities. Currently, I am fostering a lovely Toy Poodle named "Emma" (est. 8 years old) as a volunteer. If you love dogs, we will have endless stories to share! 【My Style】 I am very active and still swim 1.5km to 2km every other day. Just like a Tuna, I can't stop moving! 🐟😂 However, rest assured—I always adjust the walking pace to suit you best. I look forward to making your Tokyo trip unforgettable!

My 17 year old son and I had the best time on this tour. Yu did a great job showing us around Tokyo. We learned a lot about the history and got a great feel for the city. He also anticipated our every need. If our hands were sticky from eating candied strawberries, he had a wipe for us. When we cleansed at the shrine, he had a towel to dry our hands. He taught us how to...

Yuichi created a wonderful six-hour for us that included restaurants. He was knowledgable and enjoyable to be with. His English skills are excellent. We highly recommend him.

Thank you so much, Rosemary! It was such a pleasure spending the day with you — your curiosity and enthusiasm made it just as enjoyable for me. I hope the memories of Tokyo stay with you for a long time, and I'd love to be your guide again if you ever find yourself back in the city!

I had a lot of fun on this tour going to many shopping areas and experiencing an advanced drift simulator for the first time! I hope to do it again when I’m back in Japan!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! It was such a pleasure spending the day with Avi. We need more time for the shopping! 😎 I hope you'll be back in Japan soon, and when you are, I would love to show you more of this incredible city! Maybe Niseko or Hakuba? ⛷️🏂 See you next time! Yu

We booked a private evening tour in Tokyo and it ended up being one of the standout experiences of our trip. Our guide was exceptional — sharp, engaging, and with excellent English. What really set him apart was his ability to read exactly what we were after. We had specifically asked to avoid the typical tourist trail, and what followed felt like being shown a version...

Thank you — this genuinely made my day. Every word landed, and reading it brought the whole evening back to me. Those are places I'd take my closest friends — I'm really glad they hit the way they did. The sense of discovery only works when the guest is truly open to it, so credit goes both ways. If you're ever back in Tokyo, the door will be open. 🥃🎌 Warmly, Yu
