I lived near Windsor for many years in my youth and have fond memories of the Castle. My mother would often watch William and Harry playing polo in the fields near to our home in the early 90's and my godmother worked in Windsor & Buckingham Palace as a nanny for Prince Edward. I grew up around stories of the royals and feel privileged to have met many of them on different occasions during my life. The years have passed and I am now an official blue badge guide for Windsor Castle and I feel more connected to this location than ever before. I am proud to be a guide for the Castle and its surrounds. This is a journey of Royal history, ceremony and tradition. A link to England's Royal lineage in the worlds most famous castle, home to the Kings and Queens of England for nearly a thousand years. We will visit the famous State rooms and St. George's Chapel where Harry and Meghan were married and wander the grounds of the Castle and its town. This is England, this is Windsor.
• Meet at London Paddington • Journey by train in 35 minutes to Windsor through the green, leafy suburbs of West London. We will aim to get there just after the coach crowds have departed leaving us with a quiet castle. • Stroll the short distance from the station to the castle through the beautiful town of Windsor, feed the swans on the river and grab some great panoramic shots of the Castle and the river. • A 5 min stroll to the Great Walk, the best view of the queens private quarters. This is a long green avenue from Windsors great park to the entrance made famous by Harry and Megans Royal Wedding. • We then Enter the castle where we will spend a couple of hours exploring the grounds at Her Majesty's pleasure. • We will visit St. Georges Chapel where I will guide you around its history of 800 years. Guiding is not permitted in the State Rooms you will have time to explore at your leisure. After the tour we can return to London or you can stay in Windsor for lunch before returning on the train.
