Roman London : A Personalised Walking Tour

It was the Romans who founded the city of Londinium nearly 2000 years ago. This walking tour takes in some of the Roman ruins which can be found underneath the steel and glass palaces of the present day City of London. You will be amazed to see how much has survived the Great Fire and the Blitz and the constant construction and reconstruction of this part of London We will visit the remains of the Roman city wall, a fort, the basilica and forum and not forgetting a Roman temple and and amphitheatre where over 5000 spectators watched the gruesome battles of the Gladiators. On certain days of the year it will be possible to visit the remains of the Roman Baths situated close to the River Thames and we can also view the remnants of the original wooden London Bridge. This tour takes you off the beaten track away form the traditional tourist sites of the West End and will give you and insight into London's remarkable history.
