Upon departing London, we will head out west through the rolling countryside to the beautiful town of Salisbury. After the journey of around 2 hours we will stretch our legs and begin our exploration of Salisbury and it's world famous cathedral with Britains tallest spire. There is lots to see, from the worlds oldest working mechanical clock to the famous Father Willis organ and ancient tombs and monuments. The Cathedral is also home to one of only four original surviving Magna Carta documents (1215). This historical document is the basis for constitutions throughout the world and is listed on the "UNESCO "Memory of the World" register. After taking a little time for lunch we will then travel through time and proceed on to Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore this Neolithic stone circle (and the brilliant Exhibition Visitors center) which has been on this site for over 4, 500 years and is one of the wonders of the world. We will then return to your London hotel or another agreed location.
Example: 8. 30 am: Meet at your London Hotel (or another agreed location) and set off from London. 10. 30 am: Arrive in Salisbury for a walk around the city 11 am: Go into the Cathedral 12:30 pm: Stop for some lunch 1. 30 pm: Leave for Stonehenge 2. 00 pm: Arrive at Stonehenge 3. 30 pm: Depart Stonehenge 5. 30 pm: Arrival back in London Time permitting we can also make a visit to Old Sarum. The original site of the cathedral. I am very flexible so we can organize your tour, step by step, according to your needs. I will endeavor to answer as many questions that you may have whilst giving a light and informative history behind each place we visit. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the tour. We will then set off back to London.
