Hi, I'm Steve and I would love to show you the sights and sites of London! I'm qualified to guide in all areas of Westminster and the City of London. I believe I have developed some exciting, absorbing and fun walking tours that you will really enjoy. I've worked and walked in London on and off for over 30 years and I'm just as passionate about the city now as I was when I started exploring all those years ago. I love meeting new people from all over the world and helping to make their time in London really memorable. My walks cover seeing the famous highlights such as Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and Trafalgar Square but also explore areas such as the Theatreland, Covent Garden and Soho. I love showing people some of the more quirky things hidden on the streets and I 'm happy to customise my walks if you have particular interests. I also have a pub walk which features a stroll along the majestic River Thames, some of the best views in London and visits to pubs to sample their wares. My interests are sport, science and food and drink so I love to use these as themes for walks. For example, I have guided groups of school students telling them stories of the many famous scientists who have lived in London and their discoveries. Hopefully this will have given them an enthusiasm for science and an understanding of the subject outside the classroom. I am happy to put together tailored itineraries for half or full day tours in most parts of London - please let me know what you are interested to see or which areas you would like to explore. I love having children in my groups and can usually find plenty of things to interest them. My walks are also suitable for wheelchair users. Member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding and qualified green badge guide for the City of London. Qualified City of Westminster guide. Member of the City of Westminster Guide Lecturers Association. Member of the City of London Guide Lecturers Association. I am not a driver guide My qualifications do not allow me to guide inside Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral or the Tower of London

There's lots of ground breaking science to be found on the streets of Westminster! 10 chemical elements were first discovered or isolated here and a world renowned scientist visited bars in disguise to catch counterfeiters! See where a famous US scientist and statesman lived (twice!) and where 100s of human bones were later found! Visit the sites of major scientific discoveries and where scientists gathered to demonstrate their work. Hear about the often bizarre lives and work of 5 world renowned Westminster scientists. Learn how the world's most famous fictional detective solved cases using science and go back in time to wrestle with mind boggling Imperial units. Ideal for students studying science aged 13-18 as it brings their school learning to life! No scientific knowledge needed! The tour can be extended by one hour Mon-Fri when starting before 1400 to include a guided visit inside the Royal Institution to see Faraday's original laboratory. Please enquire for further details.
- start by hearing of the many leading scientist who have lived and worked in Westminster - marvel at the Royal Institution, where Michael Faraday lived and where the reasons that the sky is blue and the greenhouse effect were first explained (amongst a lot more!) - see statues or plaques commemorating Humphrey Davy, Isaac Newton, Ada Lovelace and Benjamin Franklin and hear of their lives - explore the courtyard where 5 'learned societies' are based and where Charles Darwin first presented his theories on evolution and hear of the scientist to shy too talk to women - imagine how science was first 'invented' at the Royal Society and hear of their present day leading role - wrestle with old Imperial units and see how you measure up! - learn how science was used in the Sherlock Holmes stories and maybe visit the pub named after him for refreshments The tour can be tailored if you have specific topics of interest
