London is a jigsaw puzzle, a monopoly board, a map layered over a hundred maps. It's Regal and Rock and Roll. It's ancient and modern. It's one of the most exciting cities on the planet. I am a Londoner, born and bred, and it's my passion to share its secrets with you. I have been, variously, an author, novelist, stand-up comedian and teacher. I published three novels with Hodder & Stoughton and my latest (a crime thriller) is on Kindle. Non fiction includes writing books on film and TV. I published a Young Adult Novel about a boy who becomes lost in the labyrinth of the tube tunnels in 1941 (Acorn books). I wrote a two-part crime thriller for the ITV network, set in London and broadcast in the 2000s. I turned to tour directing in 2014 and ever since have led long lines of Americans through the tube network (none lost yet) the streets of London and across the UK, Scotland and Ireland (even France). I began studying for the highest guiding qualification, the London Blue Badge, in 2019 and I graduated post- Pandemic. This allows me exclusive access to the Tower, Abbey, St Pauls and other places. My hobbies are mainly culture- based. I like to attend theatre now and again (West End and Fringe). I love film, in particular Horror or London movies, put together that would include Creep, Death Line and 28 Days later. I attend the NFT on the South Bank, the Curzon and the Odeon, Shaftesbury Avenue. I'm a runner, but cannot afford to enter the London marathon, so I continue to plough across Richmond park when I can. My partner Mary lives in Brighton, so I spend time down there when the trains will allow. I also paint in acrylics, mainly landscapes and views of the pier. She too is a guide, so we don't often get time off together. One day I will persuade her to get a cat. I do not lecture. Tours are a conversation - a chat, a way of looking that reveals the hidden London. We must always look UP, as concrete, glass and steel gives way to brick, mortar and ghosts of the past. We see London anew each and every time. It is a fascinating city and I hope I can do it justice. If you are spending two weeks or two days here, London has so much to offer. It's sometimes hard to choose. Museum or gallery? Walk, bus, tube or cab? Theatre or gig? Which market is best? I try to keep updated on all the current shows and with the ever-changing events in town (and things do change - fast). If you want a fun few hours that are both entertaining and informative, with a good dash of great facts to take away along with the memories - then do get in touch with me. London Blue Badge. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in a vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

As a native Londoner and accredited Blue badge guide, I have in-depth knowledge of all the sites, plus short cuts to get you the best locations for photo Ops and a great tour of the City of Westminster. Westminster Abbey, scene of 40 coronations; Parliament Square; Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster, home to our UK Parliament. In Whitehall, we pause by Number 10 Downing Street - home of the Prime Minister, then past the secret Churchill War Rooms to St James' Park (pelicans, squirrels, ducks, geese and the famous swans) Buckingham Palace, heart of royal London, where we will enjoy the pageantry of the Changing of the Guard. * Horse Guard's parade for the cavalry, then on to Trafalgar Square, where I will show you parts of the West End tourists never see. I've spent a lifetime learning these streets. We finish in Leicester Square, ideal for shopping or lunch. *M/W/F/Sunday only.
I will meet you at an agreed place and together we will cover the following spots during the tour: Westminster Abbey Parliament Square Big Ben The Houses of Parliament Downing Street London Eye (partial view) Churchill War Rooms (exterior) St James' Park Buckingham Palace The Mall Horse Guards Parade Trafalgar Square Leicester Square/Covent Garden We will finish at a transport hub (West End) - allowing you to get tubes or cabs. NB: We will not enter any buildings during this walking tour. * This tour can be customized upon request, feel free to message me.
