Hi there, and welcome. I hope you are looking forward to your visit to London. So many people call London home but like many of them, I was not actually born here. London always called to me growing up in the East Anglian countryside. At the turn of the millennium, I finally made the move. And I have never looked back! Working initially running a chain of bars in Soho, I was engrossed by the history of the city. The vibrant mix of people (both residents and tourists) and cultures have held my fascination for nearly 20 years now. I moved on from working in bars to become a chef. I worked in some of London's finest hotels, all the while reading up and exploring all London had to offer. With the arrival of my young family, I wanted more flexibility in my work life balance. I decided to take on one of my greatest challenges yet. I was to study 'The Knowledge' to become a Licensed London Taxi Driver. Learning so much to pass these exams whetted my appetite for more. I was soon studying again. This time to become a Green Badge London Taxi Guide with The Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers. People that have taken a tour with me comment on my enthusiasm, which I take as a great compliment.  I do admit that it is not hard as there is so much to love about London. I like to think that living and working in different areas in London for the last 20 years gives me an insight different from many other tour guides. It gives me great pleasure to be able to share my unique experiences with people visiting this great city. I also love to hear some of the stories my customers share with me. You never stop learning. Most recently I have taken myself back to the classroom to improve my amateur Photography. Whilst not professing to be David Bailey, we can always take the opportunity to capture some great snapshots of your trip to London. Why not join me for a drive around London? Licensed London Taxi Driver, having completed "The Knowledge of London" Qualified London Taxi Guide Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers Member of ASTA - American Society of Travel Advisors Member of London Historians Member of English Heritage Member of National Trust I am not a Blue Badge Guide so although I can accompany you inside the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey I cannot guide inside these historical monuments. Whilst my Taxi is limited to 6, please enquire for larger groups.

Overview of your London tour

Upon departing your hotel we will head south east out of London and into Kent, the Garden of England. Chartwell House. For over forty years it was the home of Winston Churchill. He bought the property in September 1922 and lived there until shortly before his death in January 1965. This was the house where he raised his family and found some solace during the worst years of World War II. Churchill was an avid amateur painter, painting over 500 canvasses in total. A large collection are housed at Chartwell and hang from the walls in the studio. Hever Castle dates back to the 13th century and was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. It formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of Britain's history, monarchy and religious reformation. Hever is a beautiful moated country house set in superb grounds. There is walking necessary as part of this visit. Upon departing Hever we will travel back to London
