Two palaces in one!
Overview of your London tour
Hampton Court Palace is truly unique in that it is a Tudor Place that was then remodelled by the master builder Sir Christopher Wren in the late 1700's, so in effect we get to see two palaces in one! It was built by Henry VIII's cardinal, Thomas Wolsey, so powerful he was known as the 'other king' and then so luxurious it was taken over by Henry VIII himself. We will see the fantastic Tudor kitchens which were able to feed up to a thousand people everyday, the Great Hall where William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream was performed and a sequence of rooms used by William III until his death in 1702.
