My interests are broad and range from royal history to architecture, art history, theatre to film locations and I have recently also specialised in visits to England's most beautiful gardens. . . I have a special connection with Oxford and first-hand knowledge through relatives and friends who had the privilege to study at this world-class university. I have been guiding there for many years. I will take you on an interesting walking tour around the city with a visit inside if the college is allowing visitors in that day. I will tell you all about the history of this oldest university town in England, show you beautiful colleges and tell you about today's students' daily life routines and how the university is adapting to the 21 Century. There will be many perfect photo opportunities during our interesting walking tour. In the afternoon I will take you to see the honey-colored villages of the Cotswolds area, once the center of the wool trade which made England rich in medieval times. We will stop at Burford and I will take you to see an 800 years old quaint country church.
I will collect you from your hotel and we will travel in a comfortable chauffeured minibus or taxi to Oxford. We will see the medieval university church which also played an important role in the religious wars between protestants and Catholics. We will see the magnificent Sheldonian Theatre where graduation ceremonies have taken place for centuries, the Bodleian library, and the reading room. We will make a photo stop to take in the Bridge of Sigh and see film locations. We will visit Christ Church College, the most impressive of all with beautiful dining hall where Harry Potter was filmed (note opening times of college are at the discretion of the college Master). - After lunch in a typical country pub, we will travel to the nearby Cotswolds and visit some picturesque villages such as Burford/ Stow on the Wold before driving back to London.
