Hi, I'm Steve and I would love to show you the sights and sites of London! I'm qualified to guide in all areas of Westminster and the City of London. I believe I have developed some exciting, absorbing and fun walking tours that you will really enjoy. I've worked and walked in London on and off for over 30 years and I'm just as passionate about the city now as I was when I started exploring all those years ago. I love meeting new people from all over the world and helping to make their time in London really memorable. My walks cover seeing the famous highlights such as Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and Trafalgar Square but also explore areas such as the Theatreland, Covent Garden and Soho. I love showing people some of the more quirky things hidden on the streets and I 'm happy to customise my walks if you have particular interests. I also have a pub walk which features a stroll along the majestic River Thames, some of the best views in London and visits to pubs to sample their wares. My interests are sport, science and food and drink so I love to use these as themes for walks. For example, I have guided groups of school students telling them stories of the many famous scientists who have lived in London and their discoveries. Hopefully this will have given them an enthusiasm for science and an understanding of the subject outside the classroom. I am happy to put together tailored itineraries for half or full day tours in most parts of London - please let me know what you are interested to see or which areas you would like to explore. I love having children in my groups and can usually find plenty of things to interest them. My walks are also suitable for wheelchair users. A half day walking tour of many of the City of London's most famous sights
Overview of your London tour
Explore 2,000 years of history in the City of London - England's smallest city (yes, really!). Take in the major sights and meander through small, winding streets with many hidden secrets. Hear the stories of the city's two great fires and hear the story of Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece, St Paul's Cathedral. The tour can be tailored to include a visit to a sky high viewing platform and/or a 3D model of the whole of London.
Your London tour itinerary
The Monument is our starting point and the backdrop to the story of the 1666 Great Fire of London. We'll then meander through some medieval streets while gazing up at 21st century skyscrapers (a visit to a sky high viewing platform may be possible). Explore the City's oldest market before seeing the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange, the residence of the Lord Mayor (exteriors) and some of Christopher Wren's churches (Mon-Fri interiors) before exploring Guildhall Yard - the centre of City governance - Tues-Sat see a magnificent 3D model of London. Next a visit to a heroic little park before finishing by exploring the area around St Paul's Cathedral (exterior).
