City of London : Half Day Personalised Walking Tour

This half day walking tour takes in some of London's iconic sights in the oldest part of the city. We meet near the historic Tower of London and take in the magnificent views on the River Thames. You will hear stories of the Tower and can view the amazing Tower Bridge, one of the great symbols of London. We then head on into the famous Square Mile, London's financial heartland, to tell the story of how London became the world's most important trading centre in times past. The City has its own traditions and rituals which set it apart from the rest of London. Hear stories of great writers, ancient Gods and American Founding Fathers and visit ancient Roman sites, a Saxon church, hidden gardens, a Victorian market and pub and explore the heartland of the City's financial core. You will see the Bank of England, Lloyds of London and the famous Guildhall and you will hopefully meet some of the people who live and work in this part of town. Lunch can be taken on the run or at Borough Market, a street food mecca.
