Hello, and welcome to London! I'm Don, a London Blue Badge Guide since 2016, a graduate of Oxford university and the former Director of the London Society. Let me take you round this incredible city - from the sites that every visitor must see, to the places that even most Londoners don't know about. Whether your stay is for half a day or for a week or more, I can help you experience the very best of London at a pace that suits you. Discover the history of the capital and its hidden by-ways, experience the world's greatest museums and galleries, visit Royal palaces and 1, 000 year old fortresses, see the Changing of the Guard, walk the streets down which Shakespeare, Dickens, Pepys and Churchill (not to mention the Beatles, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones) once strolled, go to some of the most famous shopping streets and establishments in the world. There is so much to see and do, and I can help you get the most from your visit. Official London Blue Badge Guide Member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Let me show you the treasures of one of the greatest museums in the world. The British Museum has some of the most wonderful examples from the entire history of human civilisation - but to experience the best of the collection you need an expert guide to navigate the thousands of objects on display. Come with me to see the unmissable gems and hear about their stories and the cultures that created them. In our tour you will be able to get up close to the famous Rosetta Stone and the Parthenon Sculptures (the 'Elgin Marbles'), walk among ancient Egyptian mummies and survivals from the Roman Empire; experience some of the stunning artwork of the Dark Ages and of Medieval Europe, and much more. (And if there is a particular period or culture that you would particularly like to see, we can tailor the tour accordingly. ) The British Museum is a 'must visit' site on any trip to London, and this tour will deliver the best experience for any traveller.
We will meet outside the museum so that we can go in together. The objects that we will see will include: - The Rosetta Stone - Rameses the Great's colossal sculpture - Ancient Assyrian sculptures and friezes - The 'Elgin Marbles', sculptures from the Parthenon in Athens - An 'Easter Island' (Rapa Nui) head - Egyptian mummies - The Sutton Hoo Anglo Saxon treasures - The Lewis chess pieces - Roman treasures from early Britain - Exquisite medieval craftsmanship And more! The tour can be customised to visit any specific cultures of interest that you may have. We shall have a short break for coffee half way through.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
