Prestige Award winning V. I. P travel and tours by Csaba! Thank you for visiting my private guide profile on ToursbyLocals. I have been involved in the tourism industry in some shape or form since I left university over 20 years ago. Life took me across the globe through many countries, as a driver-guide or just as a tourist myself or working on different projects, finally settling in Scotland and becoming a full-time private guide. I have been offering small group tours, day tours, shore excursions and private tours in Scotland for well over 10 years, so allow me to take you on an unforgettable journey through breathtaking scenery and to some of the most famous sites in Scotland. I can pick you up from a city accommodation, rural cottage, B&B, airport, or train station. I like the outdoors and Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I travel a lot and do a lot of mountain biking around the country so I can vouch for that. I do some photography as well and the Highlands of Scotland provide a lot of nice scenery for this sort of hobby. On my private tours, we will travel in a luxury, fully air-conditioned Nissan Elgrand minibus with comfortable reclining seats (a maximum of 6 passengers) as I think that this is the best way to explore this beautiful country. Being a small group tour allows us access to all the hidden gems, off the main roads, experiencing the history, legends, and wildlife the bespoke way. I have learned a lot over the years and done many tours for groups of different nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and you form a bond with a lot of the people you meet. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the experience. I look forward to meeting you, and sharing the beauty of my country. I have a degree in tourism. I have worked in the industry for over 20 years and moving to Scotland, just made it easier to pursue this profession. Guiding restrictions may apply inside Castles and historical places. Most such places have their own guides or trained staff to provide information. I can drive/guide any tour that you would like to take, whether it's a cruise ship tour or a day tour from Inverness, Invergordon or Portree. I am flexible in organizing these tours, so please feel free to ask any questions. Thank you.

We will start this tour with a visit to the beautiful Cawdor Castle, which is linked to Shakespeare's Macbeth. I was fascinated when I first visited this place. The legend around how the castle came to be, and the holy tree that still stands marveled me. It dates from the late 14th century. It was first built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor, with the ancient medieval tower constructed around the legendary holly-tree. Wherever you look, Cawdor Castle is steeped in intrigue and history. A short drive from here will take us to the famous site of the last battle fought on British soil, Culloden Battlefield. There is a fantastic state of the art visitors center, where we have time to take in over 250yrs of history and artefacts since the Battle (and a coffee too!). We will head to Clava Cairns. This is a type of circular chamber tomb cairn from the Bronze age and a fascinating historical place dating back to 2000BC. My love for history and photography make this place an awesome spot for me!
The itinerary will be the following: - Cowdor Castle (visit to Castle and Gardens 1-2 hours). - Lunch in Cawdor Tavern ( subject to availability ) - Clava cairns (visit 30 min). - Culloden Battlefield (visit, maybe lunch 1-2 hours). This is a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
