Having qualified as a Scottish Tourist Guide for the North Highlands in 2018, I am brimming full of enthusiasm for showing visitors the delights of the Highlands, where I have lived and travelled extensively since 1997. My previous role as a charity event fundraising manager introduced me to the iconic scenery of the Highlands and developed my people and communication skills. I am also a member of a local Tourist Guide Association, which keeps me connected with the latest talks and information available. Whether you have interests in Scottish Culture, ancient castles, the sometimes bloodied history, famous wildlife, awesome geology, stunning lochs and spectacular mountains or just want to chill in one of the most unique areas in the world, off the beaten track, I would be delighted to guide you, and help create what I hope will be one of your most enjoyable and entertaining holidays. In my comfortable, roomy and air conditioned Skoda Superb Plug In Hybrid, I can driver guide for up to 3/4 people. For groups of up to 8 people, I can hire an Arnold Clarke people carrier, for an additional fee. I can also provide walking tours in the beautiful city of Inverness, where I am fortunate to live, which could be part of a day's tour. I can meet you at your accommodation near Inverness or your cruise ship in Invergordon, Ullapool or Fort William. The Highlands have been home to some amazing people and I want to share their stories with you, sample the delights of what they eat and drink and give you a taste of life in the Highlands today. You can choose one of my advertised tours, which can be adapted, taking care with the timings, or I am happy to provide bespoke tours for any "must sees" or "must dos" that you have. Several of my tours are suitable or can be adapted for wheelchair users and I am happy to design bespoke tours to help visitors with other disabilities make the most of the Highlands. Your enjoyment is my aim and with my informal, friendly and sometimes humorous approach, I want to provide an unforgettable experience in this beautiful and fascinating area, which can take your breath away! I gained my Scottish Tourist Guide Association Green Badge for North Highlands from the University of the Highlands and Islands and I'm a member of the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association (HOSTGA). I have full indemnity insurance as well as an Emergency First Aid Training certificate.

This shorter day (6 hours) will provide some wonderful Scottish experiences. Magnificent Dunrobin Castle, the family seat of the Earl of Sutherland and the Clan Sutherland, has a fascinating interior, heavenly gardens and a fabulous falconry display. It is my favourite Highland castle, partly because I used to organise abseils there! We will stop off at Glenmorangie Distillery for a tour of one of the world's most well known malts, perfected by the "Sixteen Men of Tain", situated on the coast. A visit to delightful Dornoch is included, with its 13th Century cathedral, historic castle hotel, where my son works (!), jailhouse shop and a chance to learn where the last witch in Scotland was burned to death. Then a drive along bonny Loch Fleet, maybe spotting some of the seals. This tour can be extended to a full day (8 hours at another price) which would provide a circular route, spectacular views and include a trip to a small, friendly Pictish Museum.
Pick up at accommodation near Inverness or at Invergordon port. - Set off along the Cromarty Firth for a 20 minute drive to Glenmorangie Distillery - One hour guided tour around distillery and time in shop - Then a fifteen minute drive along scenic Dornoch Firth to historic Dornoch. - Let's spend an hour in Dornoch exploring the lovely cathedral, shopping in the old jail and maybe a dram or coffee in the Castle Hotel. - Off along the coast, past the site of the last executed witch in Scotland, maybe spotting some seals, if we're lucky, for a 35 minute drive to Dunrobin Castle. - We'll spend up to 2 hours at Dunrobin Castle, exploring the magnificent interior, stunning gardens, watching the very special falconry display and checking out the fascinating animal museum. - Then we head back for a 45 minute drive to Invergordon, maybe stopping off for an ice cream in Golspie. Customization of this tour possible upon request.
